I hate hotels that don't have a plug socket near the bed. It's so irritating.

yes so annoying. It's like they do it on purpose too as it's the same in loads of different hotels.

for £5.75 get one of these

It's only slightly more of a pain to put it in your case after you've knocked one out finished sending that important email to the US before they leave work.

Why would you get that, and not this to plug anything in, including your phone charger, alarm clock, hammer drill and mini fridge?

But you can't use it to plug in your phone charger, which is what I think most people want to have next to their bed in a hotel room? Since if I have a laptop with me on a work trip, I can't use it to access anything good...

You can plug your phone in to your laptop to charge.
You're welcome.

Phone takes 30 mins to charge from 20% to full from the wall, it takes 4 hours from a USB port on a laptop.

As I've got chargers and plugs in UK, AU and US plugs I travel with one of these bad boys, problem solved:

Except mine has a US 3 pin plug (NEMA 5-15) as I bought it in the US.

Ok, lets wind back a bit here.
Start sleeping with your PA again
Then he will start booking you decent hotels rooms again.

Sadly I'm going to have to hand in my PH card as I don't warrant a PA...

confused - I've not known the bean-to-cup machines to deliver inconsistent results.

If we did a root cause analysis, there is no bean to cup machine at work, the cause of which is that I have to come to work, had stock market returns been more fruitful the sale of my great grandfathers chain of hotels would have left me well founded enough to not need to come to work.

If the working classes pulled their finger out and made industry more profitable pop's investments might have done better. Lazy bones the lot of them! Even worse, when Nanna's house was sold, the stuffed crododile and the baby grand went. Not even a concert grand. Awful.

Me neither, it's always ste.

On the coffee front, my employer has issued an edict banning us from putting coffee grounds down the sink. fking fascists.

Why so? I once read that coffee grounds were abrasiv to fat build up in drains, so considered a good thing?

No bean to cup machine here, so I have a swissgold filter cup and a morning ritual. Lavazza red label ground in a vacuum brick. Been having the same coffee for 25 years.

It's always coffee grounds they find when the drains get blocked - but I think it's fatty deposits that trap the grounds, because people put all sorts of crap down the sink. My wife has the same problem at her work.

Small cafetiere and Taylor's Rich Italian here; have contemplated getting an Aeropress but apparently you need twice as much coffee to get the same strength. What's the strength like with the Swissgold thing?

It'll have your eye out!

The Lavazza is a fine grind for espresso, which I think helps. One largish super heaped teaspoon makes a strong cup in my giant bucket mug.

The Swissgold cups were £5 or 3 for a tenner when I bought them, a lot more now, but worse, they current new ones appear not to be gold plated! Appalling.

here's a fking FWP. I am testing out what might be causing me heartburn, and unfortunately it seems that a major factor might be strong coffee. What sort of cruel cosmos would deny me my Pact subscription.
