It hasn't been turned upside down, the toplight is part of the frame, so it's either been photoshopped or they have just put the panel in upside down

Talking of front doors, this number just doesn't look right to me.

The door has been turned upside down, not the frame

It isn't possible to do that, he's right - the panel has been turned over or it's photoshopped.

Well sorry to be the one to tell you but these frames are made of extruded aluminium re-enforced uPVC. I've fitted replacement doors to existing uPVC frames on many occasions and generally have to alter the frame to accept the doors hinges and latching, those parts are external and therefore easy to move, the frame recesses are the same all round. It's easier to rework the frame than the door. My experience of uPVC door fitting is what drew me to what had most likely happened here

Had the pleasure of driving the other halfs car a bit at the weekend, and noticed this on the steering wheel controls.

So, normally I'd say that it's:

Volume UP
Volume DOWN
NEXT track
PREVIOUS track

But, BMW in their infinite wisdom have arranged the MFSW buttons the other way around, so you get:

Volume NEXT
Volume PREVIOUS
UP track
DOWN track

To add; it's actually the DOWN arrow to go to the next song, where I'd assume it'd be the UP.

Who the bloody hell signed off on this!?

That's pretty logical if you think of playlists on a music app. You go down the playlist for the next track in the queue and more often than not, the volume control is a left to right slider.

The one that gets me in modern cars is what to do with the single button for phone answer - is it short press or long press to answer or kill a call - I've had opposing logic on two cars in our fleet at the same time. Always have to go for the centre console button instead.

Pah. Poor ergonomics... Have you been in a Vauxhall Crossland? It's as if someone took a box of buttons and threw them in the car whilst naked and blindfolded, ass covered in jam and a swarm of wasps emptied in to the car as motivation.

It's not a phone, it's a car.

I get that logic, but I don't like it. I'm old, clearly, damn kids.

laugh sounds like we had exactly the same weekend as it happened to me, doesn't seem intuitive and I couldn't understand why it was different to my BMW.

Does it have a screen which shows the playlist? If so then it makes sense.

yes Happens to the best of us.....I think we're probably the "disorientated" generation, too young to avoid the tech completely but too old to keep up with the endless "improvements".

So you mean to tell me someone went to all the effort of flipping the door in it's frame, changing the hinges, the lock mechanism and all the lock points but couldn't be arsed to spend 5 minutes popping the beads off to the flip the panel round when done.... I'm sticking with my original post... rolleyes

I've also fitted many upvc doors wink

Holy crap that'd drive me insane! In fact it'd almost be enough to put me off a car.

VW have their DSG shift the wrong way round when using the stick; forward goes up through the gears, back goes down. I still get it wrong and I've had the car well over a year now.

There's an accepted order to certain things which just shouldn't be fked with!

Agreed. Mrs has one, it always confuses and irritates me (I am easily confused and irritated though!). Lovely car though, much better looking in real life than pictures.
