My neighbour parks his works van in a “turning point” which means for good chunks of the day I get to look at a van out the office window. (My office is on the ground floor, below where the photo was taken)
The real annoyance is the house will overlook a nice green space in front of our front garden which will be a lovely place to watch the kids play when it’s finished.
I asked him about it today. Seems he considers it his turning space so he can park in it (plans say it’s common area)
Also, if he doesn’t park there others will, and did when he used his own parking space instead. Did I mention he has two parking spaces but his wife’s car parks in them.
Other people may have used the turning point to park but that was before we moved in, so the house was unoccupied. I did tell him I’d say the same to them.
His other excuse was that his two spaces are hard to get out of, even with the turning point. So basically his wife can’t park the car.
Hugely frustrating, especially now I’ve spoken to him and it’s still unresolved. And this only affects my house, so I can’t recruit any other neighbours who have the same problem.

We have a few of those - just 'shared spaces' - we all have double drives.. but exactly the same has happened - someone just 'adopts' it as their own... usually because they are inept at fitting their vehicles in their own spaces.
Ie: it makes their life easier at the detriment of everyone else's.

The half tree.
My neighbour’s just done this to our tree. Agreed it overhung his driveway a wee bit, but not a part they use as such. He asked if I was ok if he trimmed it and I agreed as it’s his right and it’s nice to be asked, but I thought he meant just the lower branches! It has been literally halved just like the one in the news! I’m not too worried as it looks ok from my house but absolutely ste from his side!
There’s more though. As part of his works he’s put up a large three car carport in front of his house. Again he asked me beforehand as he was hoping to do it ignoring PD and planning. It’s ugly but it makes his house look rubbish not mine and for good neighbourly relations I thought it best to say ok as I value being on good terms above all else.
The real issue for me is that he’s now put ultra bright colour changing LED flood lights on his driveway to illuminate his house, but they also illuminate my house and shine in my windows. It like living in Benidorm and is really naff and not suited to the local area at all. Ok for parties, Christmas, Special occasions etc. but not every evening. I know the advice will be to talk to them but I’m really worried that if I do it’ll cause bad feeling. :-(

Not quite my neighbors, but actually the people who used to own my house, as I learned from my now neighbors.....
Turns out the previous owners liked to wander around the house naked. Ended up getting known as 'the naked house'. Thats all well and good, but the house itself is relatively secluded but overlooked by three other houses. Yeah, the neighbors got a full view of them wandering around in their full glory. And they were just before their retirement too, so possibly not the best view.
Anyway, had a few comments from neighbors about this - and no, we are the new owners and no, we dont walk around naked......
It might take a few more years yet to have that moniker dropped.

Thats all well and good, but the house itself is relatively secluded but overlooked by three other houses. Yeah, the neighbors got a full view of them wandering around in their full glory. And they were just before their retirement too, so possibly not the best view.
Anyway, had a few comments from neighbors about this - and no, we are the new owners and no, we dont walk around naked......
It might take a few more years yet to have that moniker dropped.

It’s an odd layout. Our house is sideways on to the street address and my parking is behind the house, not on that pic. We have a different street address to the house next door, plot 74Also I would surprised if anything is legally common land on a new development.

Might’ve posted this before but I can’t remember. Used to live in a house at the end of a cul de sac, had a few driveways but most folk didn’t and parked in the ten shared spaces. Once in a blue moon there would be 11 cars for the 10 spaces and someone would temporarily park half on the pavement in as unobtrusive a manner as possible.
Each time this would happen, the neighbour nearest would stop parking their single car in their drive and use that bit of pavement. Presumably they were so miffed at seeing the car outside their house parked on the pavement for a few hours that they solved it by… parking their car on the pavement for days.

According to site it’s not a parking space, even though he has exclusive access to it. I’d hoped - as he has two parking spaces and two cars - he might just do the decent thing.
He suggested other people would park there but then surely he’s got every right to ask people not to, and now he has me inside to ask the same thing.
