The symbol can be used in either direction in Hindu and Buddhist tradition, with different meanings. Technically only the right-facing symbol, as used by the nasty Germans, is called a Swastika. The left-facing symbol, as drawn in the post above, is called a Sauvastika.I would assume that the person who drew the symbol on the car didn't know any of that and was simply not very good at drawing.
