Viewing angle vs angles on the object. Imagine a looking at a tablet PC on your lap, tilted so you're looking squarely at the screen. It will be oblong. Now rotate it 180 degrees away from you. Now you're looking at the edge so it's a very long thin oblong.

It hasn't changed shape, you're looking at the screen from a different angle so it's effectively disappeared.
