Dating sites are apparently old hat now... Gumtree appears to be the way forward. I had someone yesterday add me on WhatsApp - presumably you look up ladies fashion items for sale and then add the phone number to WhatsApp and check out their profile picture before hitting on them... I'd love to post screen shots of the conversation but fear I'll be banned.

It went along the lines of

'Just seen your ad - still available?'
'Which ad?'
'The heels... oh not for me for my sister... is that you in the picture?... hot... I'm 28, here's some 'X' rated photos of me...'

Interesting concept.

Wow!

A friend was getting similar on her work Twitter account. Some of the messages were blood scary!

Right then chaps, what the fk am I doing so wrong or more so how the fk do I make things better?

To make a long story short, the very few matches/replies I get always and I mean always end up with me being told how unattractive I am getmecoat

This has happened all my life and I'm at the end of believing it will change, I know somebody will take the piss even on here or even doubt what I'm saying is true, but look at my post count, I'm not trolling rolleyes

From Tinder - Match - in person, the same st happens, even with them both set as far possibly possible, I should also add I'm "only" 23, I'm forever reading on here about various people going on many dates with various different women, how the fk do you do manage that?

Whilst everybody I know is having children or getting engaged, I'm just wondering if there's anybody who is just nice enough to look past my face, I've fked it completely.

Some interesting and funny stories on here though, thanks for the laughs.
Never properly tried the online dating thing, but it took me until I was 25 to find someone that found me attractive (that I liked back, anyway).

Some of us just get a bad draw and have to wait longer than most.

Bit of a cliche but it will probably happen when you least expect it.

All I know is women can smell desperation from a mile off so maybe you're putting across bad signals?

This was all on POF and I'm going back 3 years now I was only on it 4 months till I met current Miss MontyC.
And well Moving on from “The face only a mother could love”. Another one that stuck in my head was “The black widow” this was an attractive, very spoilt parent’s paid for everything milf who had lost her husband the previous year.

Now the first thing I noticed when I set foot through the door is what I can only describe as a shrine for her previous husband, his navy items pictures candles all on a shelf which instantly made me think, she’s not ready to move on.
Still I dated her for a few weeks in which time despite staying the night 4-5 times had got nothing more than a kiss. But I think ok give things time she’s obviously still hurting. Still were sitting watching some s**t on tv and I glance over she’s on pof messaging another guy about meeting up whilst I’m sitting next to her, now to be honest I wasn’t all that bothered as this was going nowhere but there’s a time and place for that and I was already in a c**p mood as she agreed to give me her broken Dyson which I had fixed in front of her and now decided to keep.
So on the way out I mentioned that I had seen her message this other guy she didn’t deny it and that was that. Still couple weeks later I get a text “Oh I’m so sorry, I would do anything to get you back" blah blah, and went onto explain the Italian jockey she was messaging after meeting a couple of times, went back to his ex. I wasn’t going to give her the time of day and had already moved on. I don’t think it would matter who she met it wouldn’t of worked out she was a complete unicorn hunter.

Just wondered has anyone ever had any strange dates?
Not of a date, but the getting to know stage with one lass, before I met my OH.

Attractive girl, local, we spent maybe a week texting/ getting to know, were at the talking about meeting stage. Then, a big no no came from her, 'I don't like dogs, especially big ones, they petrify me'.

At this point I gently let her know 'I have a Doberman x Great Dane (truth) which is about as big and scary looking as they get, I'm afraid I don't think we're going to go anywhere'

You'd think this would be a mahoosive red flag to someone with this phobia, but no, she persisted. I kept it polite, but reaffirmed that because of this I couldn't see it going anywhere, and deliberately lessened the quantity of messages I sent her, hoping to let it die a death.

But no, regular questions of when I was going to take her out, why are you being quiet. Rinse and repeat, suggest 'this really won't come to anything, sorry'

About a week later, getting too much trying to ignore her, I said, 'look, I'm not being a dick, but you're scared of dogs, especially big ones, and I have one of the biggest dogs you'd likely ever meet. Can you not see why this is a none starter!?'

'ALRIGHT, no need to be like that' was the reply she sent. Jesus.... some women are mad I swear.

Be fair, that would put anyone in a bad mood.

What happened to Croyde's 'woman with 5yr old adopted kid' thread? Did he really get it deleted because it wasn't going the way he wanted? I can't find it anywhere now.

Well, he's understandably pissed that he wasn't going to get sucked off (either way).

I believe the 120+ month club members can now delete their own threads.

It does appear to be gone...

weird. Are we more likely to be regretful of what we say?!

It gets worse. Browsing idly, I've encountered quite a few of the 'treasures' who post, "Would prefer someone with own teeth." I wonder what'd happen if I put, "Must have original womb and ovaries" or, "Prefer someone with own appendix."

I have a date this afternoon with a girl I met on plenty of fish. This is our first one so will see how it goes. It's quite bizarre as my mate has been dating her best pal and we never even knew until he was on my phone and saw a picture of them both together.

Will see how we go. This is my first date since April. Things have been quiet but I suppose more ladies will appear in the colder weather.

Been on the date and although she is a nice enough girl I'm not too sure she is girlfriend material. I'll let this one pass and move on.

Broke up with my girlfriend on Saturday...not sure if it was the right thing to do.

We were seeing each other for around two months before we got to together. She has a daughter who is five.

She had got the whole of August off work so I was spending most of the weekend around hers and also a couple of days during the week.

I love time to myself, not necessary to do anything in particular, but if I want to spend all day in bed watching Netflix I will. Or out on my bike for a couple of hours. I felt that I was getting guilt tripped into going around hers and staying later and later when I had the day off or didn't start until the evening.

Her daughter loved being centre of attention though, and if I'm honest it got annoying towards the end. To give my ex credit though she is a fantastic parent and has done an amazing job by herself.

She also had a problem with my best friend...who happens to be female. We went on two/three dates and nothing happened but whenever I mentioned i was going out for lunch with her I'd get a sarcastic reply.

She also wants another kid before she's 30 (five years away)...i want kids but at the moment my career is coming first and I'm not sure if I'll be ready then.

Despite this...i do feel like I'm going to regret breaking up with her...a lot of it is stuff we cluld perhaps work on and we do/did get on brilliantly most the time...

WTF - i'd prefer someone with their own teeth too, what a weird way to react! Presumably you don't have your own teeth.
