I think you are bang on the money there. I met a girl on POF years ago who told me as an experiment she took a photo of her housemate first thing in the morning in her dressing gown and they created a profile with no content.Now her housemate wasn't bad looking and from a first thing in the morning photo with zero content she was immediately iunundated with messages.
I have also had women show me their POF accounts and they had over 500 unread messages. I used to think I was doing well if I had 3 or 4 unread messages.

Nothing to do with the ratio of women and men looking for a proper relationship (which is probably in mens favour) and everything to do with the hundreds of creepy men trawling these sites messaging absolutely any female they think they might get a sniff at.
I never cease to be amazed at how hard so many men seem to make this for themselves. It's really not complicated.
What are the views on professional photos.
I'm thinking of upping the ante and getting some done.
The problem with this is that they would probably be all studio which doesn't portray the natural setting / normal guy image that I wanted.
Also what is the right number of photos?
I currently have 5 but that was just an arbitrary number.

Doesn't need to be in a studio. A good portrait photographer will be able to do you justice outdoors.I'm thinking of upping the ante and getting some done.

What I think is the studio photos and your everyday photos will look like 2 different people I'm thinking of upping the ante and getting some done.

It's not rocket science ffs, a handful of photos. A selfie, a couple in obvious social situations, one of you skydiving or whatever lifestyle pish you're trying to convey. Dressed properly, smiling, not looking like a rapist. It's not that hard.

Seems I may be on this thread again myself soon. Met a girl on POF in June 2017 but seems it's reached the end now. My profile is still hidden on POF, but noticed she created a new one last night - unfortunate that she looks so damn hot in it! Oh well, such is life.
