On that basis, it is isn't that hes with a much younger woman that might be the issue, more that he has relationships that don't last a lifetime - seems like he could be with a 53 yr old woman now and it still might fail based on what you are alluding to...

Reality is he's a wealthy, famous actor and is enjoying the spoils that brings, one of which is a greater ability to have the things he wants - if he wants her and she wants him don't see the issue.

If he was on the bins as you put it, then he probably wouldn't be rolling in circles where he gets to meet a woman like that.

She also has a decent career as an actress so it's not like he pulled out of a nightclub and he was her meal ticket.

Well yes. But because she's amazing but not because she happens to be significantly older.

Shirly by the time you're in your 20s people are just "people". They are people you like, or don't like, or don't notice. But you wouldn't expect a 22yo to "look up" to anybody just because they are in a relationship with their dad. They may, or may not. But nobody would really expect it to be the norm, to the extent they'd "laugh" about the idea someone would not, but you'd expect them to do so.

Well said. We could pretty much delete most of the last 3 pages (definitely the last 2) with no loss to the thread.

All these new tales coming through of more heartache and broken marriages just makes me feel very lucky that my ex-wife was an angel in comparison. We had a fair split of the assets, equity in the house, didn't touch each others pensions or company shares. One in a million it would appear.

It's great when it happens like that, but then people don't start or search for an existing thread to say "I just had the perfect divorce"
