Breaking on BBC website now....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-30659629

I'd like to dismiss it out of hand but they are a bit of a weird bunch aren't they (the Royals, not Americans)

Edit - a bit more detail on the Telegraph site - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/theroyalfam...

Plaintiff was 17 at the time of the alleged, so it's not a 'pedo' issue.

This one

"Suggestion of impropriety with minors untrue," says Buckingham Palace after Prince Andrew named in US sex lawsuit"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-30659629

I do hope that this is untrue, not for his sake but for his parents.

These allegations have been around for a while.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1361039/Pr...

It's in connection to his peado friend Jeffrey Epstein.

It is in Florida, according to the Telegraph, still considered a minor.

Which is not necessarily anything to do with paedophilia.

A paedophile won't be interested in a post-pubescent 17 year old.

Would that not be statutory rape then

I'm not fan of the inbred lot of them but I'd be amazed if this were true - you're talking about one of the most famous men on the earth who could have his pick of the majority of women he desired...

From wiki -

The age of consent in Florida is 18,[61] but close-in-age exemptions exist. By law, the exception permits a person 23 years of age or younger to engage in legal sexual activity with a minor aged 16 or 17.

794.05 Unlawful sexual activity with certain minors.-- (1) A person 24 years of age or older who engages in sexual activity with a person 16 or 17 years of age commits a felony of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.

I remember this story surfacing a few years ago when Ghislaine Maxwell (daughter of Robert) was questioned in relation to "procuring" girls for Epstein, something she strongly denied.

Most people can be promiscuous without being interested in children.

I think your remark is unreasonable.

absolutely not - but 17 (by our, that is to say UK, standards) ain't a paedo. There is a WORLD of difference between someone who shags someone underage (15/17 depending on legal jurisdiction) and someone who interferes with early teens and younger

I think it's called ephebophilia - I remember it being discussed on here in relation to JS.

A person of 17 is still considered a minor in the UK too. The age at which somebody is considered "full age" in the UK is 18.

Also - paedophilia is a precise medical term - not a legal one. Nobody has ever been prosecuted for "paedophilia".

A lot of people don't seem to realise this, otherwise there would be a lot of 16 and 17 year olds in jail!
