I wonder whether people in the South ever frivolously purchase unwanted ordnance from other people in the South?
Eh?
I think CAPP0 means "if you're no longer using it I might buy it off you as I'm also in the South" smile

I have zero need for it. I had one on long-term loan years ago and I haven't needed one since I returned it. But I NEED one!

Same here, thinking about it I also bought a bag, a bipod with extendy legs, spinny target things, loads of paper targets, lots of pellets, and am sure some other stuff, think I’ve got a scope somewhere.

Gotta have the right gear for 5mins use every couple of years.

If it's anything like me, you actually mean "got to know that somewhere you have the right gear, only by the time you find it the moment has passed" smile

After watching these for a few years go through eBay I finally bought a copy.
Simply awesome smokin - I've lusted after a copy of that for many many years thumbup

Not *entirely* frivolous though - they just seem to keep going up in price

I started this thread in the scale models section, but I have just realised that it qualifies beautifully as a frivolous purchase!

I bought a copy of the 1985 Tamiya Radio Contol guide, which I had back in the day when I was 13. Bought entirely frivolously as a nostalgia trip. The price for a magazine which cost a few quid in 1985? A snip at 65 pounds biggrinbiggrin

Fabulous! I used to love the Tamiya catalogues when we were lads, despite not being able to afford the actual models themselves!

Shame we through them all out not realising they would become so valuable in the future!

Same here, had a look through a copy some years back, and have read the text in ebook form but the proper book has a lot of stunning photos. Good buy.

I needed a new flashlight to be kept in my van, so got a cheap and cheerful Cree thing from Amazon. I then realised that perhaps one on my keyring would be useful, so I’ve also got a Nitecore TIP as a frivolous purchase

http://flashlight.nitecore.com/ILLUMINATION/T/TIP/

360 lumens on a keyring, amazing.

Awesome. I was lucky enough to have the Tamiya Lamborghini Cheetah when I was a kid, I sold it after a few years and even now I kick myself whenever I think of that.

Just out of interest, are these outfits/helmets ornamental or do you wear them? If the latter, for what purpose? (please make it clean...)

Not antagonistic, genuinely intrigued.

I've always loved the Art Deco / Dieselpunk vibe of The Rocketeer - seriously underrated film.

Oh leave it out, he's already lost all the hair on his arm.
To be honest it was a bit frivolous and maybe I shouldn't shop after drinking (or answer piss taking comments)
It has now arrived and sadly it doesn't pluck the few hairs I have on my arms out.
I like it anyway.

Some of them are worn. The Star Wars ones mainly as both husband and I are part of a charity garrison so we will wear them for events from time to time. Other than that most are display, although husband wants to put a rocketeer costume together for comic con.
Mostly though just for the love of random crap biggrin

A mini Christmas present for myself:

Nitecore Tini, £28, 380 Lumens. Pictured next to a 2 Euro coin because that's all the change i could find.

At the last count a couple of years ago I was on torch No.400ish. Now fast approaching 450ish
