Pen knifes and multitools are a must for any car. We used them on a recent roadtrip to make some sandwiches -

Spoiler came in handy as a picnic table.

In case of what? Having to cut a belt if you go into a lake is all I can think of.
Its uses are limited only by your imagination. Or lack of.
Well I dont think I have ever used one in my life so genuinely cant imagine why I would want one in the car.

I guess my life is a lot less bear grylls/interesting than other people though hehe

I did my Duke of Edinburghs award right through to Gold achievement and only used on twice that I can think of, I cant imagine I would use one now at all.

oh and for the sandwiches ... I have cups / bowls / cutlery in the car for when I am away with work ... what sort of uncivilised people are on here! wink

Sometimes the best tool for the job is what you have at hand. smile

Although, of course, having the right tool for the job is even better.

I have two swiss army products in my car, a traditional knife one and multi tool.

I rarely if ever use the knife but the other bits are handy all the time - like you go away on holiday and need a screwdriver, or pliers, or a saw, or any of the other multitude of tools.

The fact it is has a knife on it is incidental, and I'll take my chances with plod as it's in the boot in a box out of the way.

There's so much about this picture that I don't understand.

Day 2 of a European road trip, Reims to Adenau. Stopped off in a underground carpark in Luxembourg to stretch our legs. We had lunch supplies but no cutlery so we all dug out our multitools and made some sandwiches. The spoiler on my Evo was the most suitable thing to use for prep work and to eat from.

I did, however, also buy this rug:

Not quite as frivolous as very few rooms in the new house have carpets.

Did you get that to fit in with the 'How to dispose of a body' thread?

Who needs a permanent picnic table wink

But surely that is only of use if you are going over 75mph? And I don't know about you, but when I'm eating a scotch egg and a tea cake, I cannot run at 75mph

I bought a battered, rusty old car door, for no real reason other than hanging it on my garage wall....

Nice.

I don't want to drift the thread - but I'm still fascinated by dinosaurs, hard to believe they walked around and were here for so long.

As you were. smile
