Presume you are all familiar with Yeggi?
It's the google of 3d Prints. 90% on there lead to free prints but some are paid.

The only actual useful thing I've ever printed was a holder for the TV remote, the rest is weird pointless stuff.

Oh bks - in my defence I'm old and it's early 🙄

If was thinking about a 3d printer what model should I buy, I have no use for one (see thread title) but I've wanted one for ages. I would probably use it to print craft stuff/models/warhammer stuff for the kids and things like that R2D2

Yeah, this is what I'm picking up from the very kind responses biggrin There does appear to be a touch of 'comb sheath' about it ( https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xga1j0 ).

However terrain for Roy Hodgson, sorry, Warhammer, no Wawammer, no Warrwwwwwwaammmer* I can understand.

And just for Friv's sake, do I take it that the cost of the 'ink' vastly outweighs the value of anything that is created?

*Niche Athletico Mince reference that I couldn't resist, sorry

Yep, that - or the Ender 3 Pro. Seem to be pretty equivalent as the best cheap filament printer.

Now I'm looking at the cheaper end of resin printers for the quality - but that really, really would be frivolous!

Compared to the cost of warhammer terrain (we've got tonnes of Kill Team/Necromunda/Adeptus Titanicus terrain - but more is always welcome)... Then no. Much cheaper!

For the door stop I'm currently spending 4 hours printing, absolutely! However, Amazon don't deliver within 4 hours...

This is the thing, it's weirdly useful.
I have an 80's Speak and Spell with no battery cover, helpfully there is a 3D print for it. Lost a peg from an Ikea shelf? Chances are there is a print for it. Search Yeggi for your car model, you'll probably find weird and wonderful phone holders and boot clips. Random attachments for a dyson are on there, not to mention some pretty nifty holders for AAA batteries.

Ultimately though, I always come back to printing random crap like this miniature Silverstone I printed the other day. No idea what I'll do with it but had to try it.

I’m currently trying to convince myself that I don’t need to 3D print the 7ft tall Saturn V rocket and launch tower on thingiverse. I might just print one of the main engines.

My Ender 3 that I bought 2months ago, has had a couple of additions to it, springs, glass bed, octopi and 3.5inch touch screen, BLTouch self levelling. I've also got a direct drive kit to install, and I'm waiting for my EZR extruder to arrive from the US, but that appears to have vanished after getting to Brazil.

Now my printer has produced something useful, it is no longer frivolous.

Nothing worse that rattling shot glasses in the gun drawer in the back of the Range Rover smile

This is all extremely impressive stuff, but I was thinking it really is frivolous as I cannot think of anything I would make with one. And then I thought about the ridiculously expensive cup holders for an MX5/124 Spider - but there will be no patterns available for that, will there ? Oh yes there are. Hmmmmm.

Why do people feel the need to make comments like this? Totally uncalled for imho. I'm sure some of the stuff you get could be looked at in the same way rolleyes

It was a joke about being 'mounted' laugh obviously funnier in my head than written down.

I actually like those circuit pictures, I very nearly bought a wooden one actually, I wasn't mocking that.

I'd duck for that parrot that's about to hit you in the face wink

Given there was a two day Amazon Prime sale I'm disappointed at the lack of posting there was in here! I'm currently waiting for the final item before posting my shame/joy at how far I fell down the rabbit hole hehe

ETA: Gary got there first!
