I once attempted to fizz up pure orange to try and create orangina. The ceiling still bears the marks.

As above. A brutal tool for a cheap knife. Look at the findings under a loupe!

Soooo just ordered this:

I couldn't bring myself to order a Canada Goose, but need something for the winter where it regularly gets down to -20c

Made from Dyneema (used in stab/bullet proof vests) rather than the usual nylon so supposed to be basically indestructable. Although they mark it as not bullet proof, I think they are missing a trick with the Chicago market if they just added a few extra layers.

Yellow card, not frivolous enough! Now, if you lived in Hawaii...
Valid point. That coat is however, is magnificent.

I've also got a weather station on order.
Which one? I'm in the market for one of these but nothing too serious.

Try it, you might like it. Or not. I’m guessing not.

I bought a LOT of spare co2 cartridges so made fizzy everything at the start. I tried perfecting fizzy cold brew but gave up

Ambient Weather WS-2902A Smart WiFi Weather Station

$170 from Amazon.

While I'd like something more serious, the Davis vantage Vue 6250 is about three times the price when you add on the wireless gateway.

Welcome to my life. Sometimes I wonder when I find time for work...

I read a lot of reviews to get to this point.

To save you the time, just buy this one, or ante up 3x and get the Davis. The Davis' sensors are better quality and likely to last longer, plus it needs an additional component for the connectivity options.

This one is potentially a little more fragile, perhaps not quite as accurate(though plent of users have compared it to other weather stations and got the same readings +/- 0.1 degrees - which is good enough to me..

I wish you were my neighbor. With or without the u. I could cut my TV bill in half.

"Hey, come and have a look."
"What has she done now?"
"Dunno, but there's orange smoke coming from the kitchen window and a pervasive citrus aroma is making my eyes water"

I like reading about this sort of stuff, and they have some cool products, but the prices put me off. I totally understand why they charge what they do, but just can't get on board with it.

Pricing is ridiculous on the full trousers and yet i fail to see the advantage. If they did a pair of biker jeans with armour, or a lightweight pair of garage overalls, then I’d be interested.

I quite like quite a lot of that stuff, however it is crazily expensive. £795 for that puffer. Wow. Although, of course, frivolous so well done.

While looking for a cheaper place to buy that jacket, I came across https://www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/uk/

I can understand why the website has that name.

Ok, highly recommended. I thought it was going to be a bit flimsy, and on opening the box, it was. I then got it assembled and took it out to replace the current, only partially functional weather station - it's noticeably sturdier.

A slight issue with temp data that was resolved with batteries, then back inside to continue setting up the console - simple enough to set that up on the home wi-fi, then to get it registered on ambient weather.net, and weather underground.

So I can now access it outside the house, which is nice. Also makes historical data easily available. All of the hard work is done via the console - sensors talk to the console, that then uploads it to the cloud.

It offers pretty much all the features you can want, at a good price. I'm now trying to add webcams to wunderground...

It had a link there to this:

That I've been tempted by for a while now.

Just got a soda stream purely because iv never had one and wanted to make my own fizzy juice. Probably only use it a couple times.
Just thought I'd update this.

I love this thing. Been using fruit creations orange and mango diluting and it makes cracking fizzy juice.

Also if anyone ever fancies it... I made fizzy Gfuel.
My advice for doing anything not water? Pre mix it in say 100ml of water, fiz up the rest of the water and then add the gfuel premixed stuff.

I just mixed it up, fired it in the bottle and it's got plenty fizz but the stuff exploded everywhere when taking it off the machine haha. How these things aren't more popular I'll never know.

Having used a sodastream for a couple of years, they're pretty good.

However, the instructions all say 'don't carbonate anything that has the syrup already added' - carbonate the water, THEN add flavour.
