More frivolous purchases, stuff you don't need..

Brake pedal is a little stiff but the throttle and clutch are great.
A free and easy fix is just to open up the pedals and remove the pointless rubber block that makes the brake pedal unnecessarily stiff.Origin Unknown said:
Let's say I bought this for the kids, which is nice of me. This image shows it connected to Dad's desktop in my office that the kids are not allowed to touch, but that has no relevance to the first sentence. It's very good... the forced feedback is especially good, it even goes as a far as immediately lightweight as soon as you hit grass. Brake pedal is a little stiff but the throttle and clutch are great.
For the kids, obviously.
I just did the same for Xmas except got the PS4 version as I figured most Xbox games I can play on pc also, quite liking it so far, would be interested to try the other springs for the pedals also, but won’t bother yet.For the kids, obviously.
The videos of people on YouTube playing forza etc and drifting everywhere look mad, like the one below, need to play with my settings and try and get better at drifting in it.

One of those USB led strips to stick to the back of the tv and light up the wall; multi-coloured and remote control, less than a fiver.
I bought a few of them, they certainly were frivolous because the wife had me take them all down because she thought they looked awful. No taste! After two years, a new airbrush that simply doesn't clog (Badger 105 Xtreme Patriot - hooer!) - my trusty cheap amazon compressor has died.
Checking out amazon, the same compressor but with small air tank and cooling fan was £80.
However, for £110 I could get one much larger with a "silent" 3/4HP motor and a tank four times the size...
For the first time in my life, I think it might be overkill!
Old one for reference...

I was just looking at those on Amazon tonight. I fancy some for a couple of work monitors. I've already used a Raspberry Pi to create the most unnecessary clock, weather forecast and news headline display using an old monitor.
Tell me more.... I’ve been looking for an excuse to buy a Pi and sod around with itSistersofPercy said:

Awesome! Hes also had a baby!
I'm trying to find him a friend. Absolutely hated the new movies, but I did like D-O. Am currently looking around to see if anyone is making a life-size replica of him Lazermilk said:
I also have that lampshade with a smart bulb in it so i can tell alexa to turn on or off the death star and change its colours...
SNAP!!! Something wonderfully satisfying about "Alexa, turn on the death star" At some point I'm going to take it down and paint it to look like the Death Star.

Soooo just ordered this:
I couldn't bring myself to order a Canada Goose, but need something for the winter where it regularly gets down to -20c
Made from Dyneema (used in stab/bullet proof vests) rather than the usual nylon so supposed to be basically indestructible. Although they mark it as not bullet proof, I think they are missing a trick with the Chicago market if they just added a few extra layers.

I like reading about this sort of stuff, and they have some cool products, but the prices put me off. I totally understand why they charge what they do, but just can't get on board with it.I couldn't bring myself to order a Canada Goose, but need something for the winter where it regularly gets down to -20c
