Work done in Bergen (Norway), time to soak up the sun and Incredible view!
..I'm going to Bergen in 6 weeks, I'd be interested if there's anywhere you'd recommended to eat or drink? Especially if it meant I wasn't returning to England limbless.Bergen, like most of Norway, is pretty expensive. I was there for 4 days, and on the company card, so I didn't care so much for costs. However.
Beer is basically between 9-12 quid for a "pint" (i.e. 500mls).
A main will cost you about £30ish.
Around Bergen harbour, there's a plethora of bars and restaurants, it really has a holiday feel there. I went to the fishmarket where there are plenty of places to sit down and try. I also went to a spanish tapas place next to the furnicular railway entrance, and also Una, which is a craft beer / burgers and pizza place. All excellent.
And if you're feeling up to it, the fishmarket will sell you a minsk whale burger. Not bad, like a fishy steak.
Just take money. Lots of money.

I live in Bergen and there's a huge food scene here depending on what you want. If you're into high end restaurants we have some of the best in the country...Cornelius - http://corneliusrestaurant.no/english/
One of the best seafood restaurants I've ever been to, it's pricey but you get picked up by boat and taken out to the restaurant which is right on the sea away from the busy city, the food is excellent and some of the best seafood this side of Western Norway.
Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri - http://www.bekkjarvikgjestgiveri.no/en/
One of my favourite places to eat in Norway, out in the western archipelago in the kommune of Austevoll, you'll need to get a speedboat here (30mins) and costs around £20 return) again some of the best seafood you'll eat and run by Bocuse D'or winner Ørjan Johannessen. Added to the fact that during summer Bekkjarvik is suchg a beautiful and bustling little harbour village.
Lysverket - http://lysverket.no/
I'm a little biased with this one as I worked here a couple of years ago during my Chef days, great food, Modern decor and a great atmosphere.
Trekroneren - Ok this this isn't a restaurant but a little shack located just a few metres from the main harbour. Norwegians love Pølse (sausage) here you can get many variations of pølse, most common is pølse topped with shrimp salad.
Hit me up if you want more info, I'd be glad to help.
