New short film out from the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola (Godfather director) and daughter of Sophia Coppola (Lost in Translation director).

As you'd expect, it's quite something.

San Francisco crime has gone through the roof. A combination of progressiveness ( allowing drug use with some neighbourhoods becoming open air drug markets, which has attracted both drug users and dealers to the city), a reduction in the police force and a ultra progressive district attorney. Looks lovely.

That's a great video, thanks for sharing. The tool-use piece is particularly impressive. The fact it can understand not just how to use them but the "fact" they are tools (such as a calculator) that it can and should use without prompts is very cool.

I read a great piece the other day where it essentially socially engineered a human being to achieve something it couldn't. It basically hired a human to pass a captcha for it by posing as a blind person: https://gizmodo.com/gpt4-open-ai-chatbot-task-rabb... It "knew" it didn't want to reveal itself as a robot so lied by saying it was a blind person. Incredible (and challenging!) stuff

Don't know if anyone watches New Yorkshire Workshop.

Not his usual fare but I found it fascinating how he remade some Victorian plaster coving and arches. Very ASMR.

BBC Link. Snowboarder somehow falls down a hole behind a tree and is lucky to be spotted. This would not be my choice of ways to die.
