Apologies if repost, but Brian Shul's talk at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is really worth a watch.

Some amazing stories, pictures and videos of the SR-71
Cheers for posting . Over an hour, but very entertaining
I keep my eye out for a copy of Sled Driver but they never go for less than £250.

That was good! It's still the noise I remember the most.

The Phantom was my first love as a child. I read everything that had been written about them, this was before the internet existed, so when I got a chance to sit in one and the navigator was explaining the controls and said "I can't remember what that switch does" so I told him. He laughed and said he was clearly wasting his time as I could teach him. Both the air crew spent ages with me being very patient and answering all my stupid questions.

The Lightning and Vulcan are always in the running but then I hear the engine and the Phantom wins.

The Phantom being very low and very loud

Haha, great taste in planes sir and a great story also! I remember when I was a wee lad in the late 90's, and seeing a news agent advert on TV for old warbirds. I believe the F-4 Phantom, with model and magazine, was the initial release. Naturally I had to have it! I still have it, along with a Tornado GR4, on my bedroom window. Unfortunately the new cat has nicked the nose cone from it, so it's looking a little worse for wear.

Fantastic! Thanks for posting.
Indeed, far better than I thought it was going to be. Some brilliant visuals there.
Loved it.
And another, that was cracking.
And another - well worth a watch - thank you.
+1

Mesmerising stuff!

Poor research. Most of those facts are either plain wrong or grossly out of date with reference to the British Army.

Brewing up in a fire fight however is true.
