We need a new thread: 'Things which annoyed you beyond reason but which have been fixed by a fellow PHer' smile
Well at least we have now established that it is a positive thing to reply to a post on this thread then. Many is the time I've been told off for countering someone's annoyance on this thread. I feel vindicated. biggrin

(I've never denied anyone their right to be annoyed, I just feel that annoyance should stem from a position of knowledge rather than ignorance)
Yep, I always think its worth helping PH comrades through their troubles if an easy path is available.

In my case^, it wasn't a case of ignorance; more that a kindly PH representative of 'The Man' felt that I kinda, maybe, possibly had a point about a piece of state infrastructure... so changed it biggrin

So now the local High St has been relaunched as 'V8mate Passage' biggrin

Getting out of the shower only to realise you don't have a towel.
Even more annoying when your missus has reminded you to get one of out of the cupboard just 5 minutes before rolleyes

Ah well, I'm sure she will think no more of it, and never mention it again. Especially not during an argument.

I walked past this shop window few times last weekend and it's driving me insane.

Who is this man? What has he done? What if he's innocent? WE NEED ANSWERS!

That's like the poor sod who finds himself in the thick of it in the services. 'Fire at Will'. What did he do wrong?

I don't know. But if you find a telephone number to call, make sure you get permission from that guy who has the final say in whether you can or not.

Trim fixings on cars

Must be made from the most brittle substance known to mankind
I feel your pain on this issue every singe day at work.

Every single piece of plastic trim and clip on a car is now made from patented 'Break-fast' plastic..

You can't remove anything on cars now without a shower of broken plastic raining down on the workshop.

It actually amazes me that on new cars, large parts of the vehicle such as the front and rear bumpers are held on with nothing more than a handful of extremely brittle plastic clips.

All in the name of saving a few quid I suppose!

The guy who I work with who says "In regarding to" rather than "In regards to". It drives me round the bend! I've also heard him say "with regarding to" which is so retarded i'm sure he only does it to wind me up.

We've had plenty of posts about Americans abusing the English language.

How about Australians ?

Watching the Highway patrol programmes ,they have "Towees" and "Firees".

Tow truck driver and Fire brigade.

There are others I've forgotten.
This.

They manage to absolutely butcher English into a language for utter simpletons.

Just simply add 'ees' or 'ies' onto the end of every word. Job done.

Truckees - Truck Drivers
Towees - Tow truck drivers
Firees - firemen
Tradies - tradesmen
Chippies- Carpenter
Sparkies - Electrician
Shinies - office worker
Facies - Facebook users

Plus many more...

Then we come to their habit of shorting every single word...

Straya
Arvo
Macca's
Biccy
Lappy
Devo
Petty (petrol)
Tinny
Garbo (garbage collection man)
Muso
Ambo
Abbo

My ex used to say "That will be suffice", which used to irritate the hell out of me.

It started through ignorance (they really thought it was correct) but I think in the end continued with it just to annoy me.

The current fashion for skinny fit clothes. Trying to get a normal pair of trousers for work has proved nigh on impossible without the danger of looking like Max Wall! Or they would be good for standing in, but not for sitting down without a wardrobe malfunction in the middle of the office.

I bought a slim fit shirt by mistake, picking it up instead of a regular fit. I could hardly breathe when I buttoned it up, and I'm of a relatively slim build.

Even trying to buy a pair of jeans, about 90% of the stock in the shops was skinny fit. I just don't get how clothing being too tight can be comfortable.

Maybe I'm of an age I should just start shopping at M&S! (That would annoy me even more I think).

Hah! Try finding an off-the-peg shirt that doesn't fit like a bell tent when you take a 19" collar. Even Tyrwhitt puts me in the 'custom' section, with reduced choice and enhanced costsmad

It's a good point.

I tend to find the size and fit of clothes a complete joke these days. I am by no means overweight, probably best described as 'stocky' and around 5' 7", but if I buy any kind of Shirt or T Shirt from the more slim fitting fashion houses such Armani, Boss, Abercrombie, Hollister, and similar then depressingly I'm an XL or XXL... But the problem then is that the garment is usually far too long.

I hardly think someone of my size is an XXL, it's just a bit of a piss take.

Ralph Lauren clothes tend to fit me like a 'normal person', I usually only need M or L, but I can only buy the 'Custom Fit' Ralph Lauren stuff otherwise it's huge and ends up billowing around on me like i'm wearing a marquee!

The whole skinny fit thing is just past a joke now. I see guys wearing jeans that are honestly fitted to them like skin tight leggings, and half the time they haven't quite got the slim physique to match. It just looks a bit grim.

But yes, the fit of clothes is quite annoying at times.

Bins, glorious bins. A neighbour of mine has twice, now, taken my bin (The one with the molten lid, that I've had since buying the house), and twice I've lifted it out of their front yard and taken it back to mine. And so today they come knocking on the door and have "phoned the council" and "have been advised to phone the police".

So now I'm looking to see if I've ever been so bored I'd taken a photo of my bin.
Where is their's?
Totally lost where I'd posted my rant. Finally getting around to replying. I don't have the foggiest where their bin is, and I don't give a flying frozen sausage. Their problem, they shouldn't just go taking another random bin.

I was applying numbers to my bins (even the disputed one) yesterday and there is the very faded outline of my house number already on it. Still, my labels make it much clearer and may even survive a few weeks!

It's only a matter of time before he says something "Irregardless".
