Adding "pm" to the end of times expressed in 24-hour clock? Lovely.

As i mentioned in another thread, it only applies to the round ones. Middle classes opt for the square or rectangular ones to differentiate themselves

That may be so, but when it's only a 2.5 hour flight to, say, Italy, I can go without the meals and accept that they will efficiently get me there for a ridiculous price. I can then spend more on the private villa rental for a week or 2 smile

Read again. I'm not talking about the passengers, I'm talking about the flight deck who are doing more than one 2.5hr sector a day.

An old colleague ended up on the 757 with them for a time, hence my comment.

Four am in the morning, carried away by a moonlight shadow

As opposed to 4am in the afternoon, Mike?

1) "4 o'clock in the morning" would have kept the same scansion, without the tautology.

2) I would think that most consider 4am to still be night-time, rather than the morning.

I don't quite understand why we're attacking Mike Oldfield in a 'Council' thread

"Attacking" is a bit strong. More critiquing...

I read this article and what I want to know is, why did nobody think to ask for a roll of duct tape to cover over the "offending" words during the flight, rather than spend several thousand pounds to rebook an inconvenience everyone? I'd suggest that duct tape is widely available at all airports and I know of at least 2 rolls at East Midlands Airport.
