I've always thought that people wearing football team tops as day to day clothing is council.

If you are going to a match then OK.

It really isn't, it marks you out as a complete numpty, it ain't like the manager is going to turn around and suddenly ask you to get in the game.

Well no, but then it's hardly as though my CEO is going to ask me to join the Board any time soon, but I'm still in a suit.

That is a matter of respect, wearing a football shirt to the match just makes you look like an idiot.

It really is, it's all part of being a supporter. Not just football either, you see plenty of replica shirts at cricket and rugby too. The one that really marks someone out as a 'complete numpty' is anyone who wears any form of motorsport branded clothing, which is surely the highest priced and lowest quality clothing out there.

It isn't, the vast majority of supporters will turn up in everyday clothes, the only ones in replica shirts over the age of 12 will be idiot Johnny come lately glory hunters or saddos with nothing else in their lives. Cricket and Rugby no idea.

Put your snobbish dislike of football to one side for a second and look at the crowd next time a match is on, especially an international match. It most definitely isn't a 'vast majority' in everyday clothes, not even close. Whether you have no idea about rugby or cricket is irrelevent, it's the same as football, especially when it comes to international matches.

I don't tend to wear a replica shirt these days but I do think it can look really good when there's a stand full of club colours, particularly away from home.

A couple of seasons running, Donny were voted as best away fans of the season by another club in our division and the tongue-in-cheek reference to our red & white shirts making their away end look like "a giant tea towel" were a great back-handed compliment.

On another scale entirely, Dortmund's "Yellow Wall" is a pretty amazing spectacle.

I do occasionally put on a football shirt for running or playing football but otherwise wouldn't wear one for daily attire.

They wore skirts to school. That isn't winning by any definition I'm familiar with.

In my day that would mark you out as a tranny for the rest of your school life. Times certainly have changed if that's now seen as winning.
I thought the 'win' was that they forced the school to rethink their policy on allowing boys to wear shorts when it is extremely hot.

I always found it funny and wondered whether the actual Ferrari owners wear "2003 Mondeo TDCI" branded clothing and a matching watch from Argos.

Snobbish dislike of football? I have season tickets for a premier league team but obviously hate football because i'm a snobrolleyes, so not viewing it from TV but actually in the stadium the vast majority are in everday clothes, international matches may be different but imo most England fans are knobheads anyway.

They didn't force the school to rethink anything, the school was already looking to amend its uniform policy before the protest.

I think the club you support and stand you are in also influences your views on adults wearing kit. Full kit wker is full kit wker at almost all grounds. Adult in a shirt is commonplace at smaller 'one team in the town' clubs. At my club, Liverpool, a shirt is acceptable for kids, pensioners and day trippers but most proper fans would consider wearing the shirt as wool as wool can get.

Colour would help it look less like the home end of Germany vs The Rest Of The World circa 1939.
