Does anyone think he honestly, genuinely believed the flannel he was giving the police about the blue lights? or did he think he could brazen it out? Niether option is great really.Sad face photo http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yo...

Someone else got stopped in Yarmouth for having blue lights "He said he worked for a search and rescue team."...

To be fair to Lopey , it does sound like he's actually mountain rescue not a 4x4 walt squad.
It would be good if he could clarify.
I think he's lowland rescue. So sort of like mountain rescue, but with less need for skills / bravery. Certainly no work for the general public, who aren't trained to secure a crime scene if they found a dead body. Seen "weekend at bernies"? That's what happens when you let every tom, dick and harry look for missing old people. It would be good if he could clarify.

We have a walt living next door to us who had a 110 which was walted up to the nines but has now been sold and replaced by a Shogun which came home yesterday. Within the hour he was out there with a few 4x4 Response stickers, i went out and asked what he was doing (knowing full well what he was up to) and he said "Just getting the beast ready for work, never know when we might be needed"

You live next door to Chemical Chaos? Small world! There is a 4x4 response walt around the corner from me. He parks his response vehicle on the main road outside his house.
Problem is every other person on that road parks on the opposite side of the street except him - so his landrover basically blocks the road which causes hundreds of people a day to be delayed.
All because he doesn't want to have to cross the road to get to/from his car.
Presumably, he needs to be able to respond very quickly and every second counts.

We had a local idiot that does did this as well, albeit not in a walt-wagon, but a Kia Sportage. But since we had a 32tonne beavertail turn up a couple of weeks back with a 13t excavator on the back, he hasn't parked there.By what I assume is pure coincidence, there is also large gouge with traces of yellow paint that has appeared down the side of his Sportage.
Our builders know nothing, as they used a plant hire company. The plant hire company used a third party agency, who subbed it out to another contractor, but they have said they don't have any yellow trucks. But I do know that there is a truck rental company that has yellow beavertails for delivering plant...

I spotted that Volvo in Stourbridge this week. Hi viz occupants (as they should be, doing the sterling emergency work they do)I met a misfit on Sunday
I'm selling some fiat 500 Abarth wheels, they've been on the road 600 miles , guy makes an offer , he's coming up from birmingham so I offer to bring them 15 miles to him and meet in the services
He inspects them like they're a vital component on a mission to mars then just says I think I'll leave it , he points at this then just gets in his car , no negotiation
It's a chip in the lacquer , not even gone to the base coat , his car was a base model 9 year old 500

Well, I have to admit to being given high-viz, a radio and a lollypop stick to man a crossing point for a bike series event.
There was a crash, right at our location, but having picked up the riders, dusted them down, dried some tears and let them get over the shock, both children carried on.

WHAT!!!! Where was the squad to close the road & set up the incident tape and orange cones? Who repaired the road? Where were the paramedics? I presume you could not get the Air Ambwilans? At least reassure us you used correct radio procedure to properly call in a 10-82!!!!
10-82, isn't that a chow mein with a side of spring rolls?Cops
