Oh dear, looks like an actual real life soldier has succumbed to a wish to be a hero by setting up his own save. Deacon Cutterham was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross for grabbing and chucking a taliban grenade and saved lives. But 2 variations of his story by his own mouth sound well dodgy.

Potentially very sad. We raised the aspect of Walt’s in the actual military early in the thread. The reality is that’s walting is just something blokes will do in all walks of life.

If true, could it just have been an accident and not planned? Soldier removes pin and drops grenade - has to lie to save face. Lie gets out of hand very quickly.

But in one version he says he grabbed it out of the stream and threw it! It sounds preposterous. I don’t think he would have let it off by accident I think he would have judged his moment and done it. The drones in the air reported no taliban activity

I know of a rotary crewman who was MiD for engaging a bunch of Taliban as they “rushed the aircraft” during an extraction.
I think the dates/times on the Despatch were wrong or something as no one else saw or heard a thing on the night stated.
Not the rest of the crew, no one on the partner aircraft, none of the Apache overwatch and, oddly, none of the troops being extracted who’d just spent several hours on the ground around the location where the (alleged) attempted ambush occurred. Odd that.
The bloke in question is and always was a complete and utter tool in my view. Far too much to say about far too many things with far too little knowledge but played that clever game of looking and sounding good to the flt cdrs who worshipped the ground he walked on.
Other people just got on with stuff and hence went largely unnoticed, as is so often the way with these things.

They are breeding a new generation of advanced COVID-Walt cyborgs, ready to exterminate any transgressors by battering them to death with yellow pieces of paper

Like all forms of Walting the type of folk this role attracts are the exact sort of people you don't want in the role.

I've always enjoyed mocking these people. But that video really pisses me off. I'm getting fking sick of people telling me what to do, and no we have some.jumped up s trying to give out yellow cards. fk off. What training have these s had, what oversight? I'm pretty easy going, I believe covid is a threat, but a threat to certain people, and the response is an over reaction that will do more harm than good. But I comply, it's worked out well for me with WFH, I hate the masks but I wear one when picking up some booze at Tesco Express.

But I do not want some jumped walt coming up to me quoting laws they dont understand or that may or may not even exist, trying to hand me a yellow card. I'm not going to claim to be a powerfully built company director and say I'd punch them in the face. But I will calmly tell them to fk off.

You think they don’t understand.
They think you don’t understand.
That’s never going to go anywhere.
Just avoid the situation in the first place by leaving the Walts to deal with the counter-Walts who “no there rites” and like to get in to arguments with anything remotely connected to government or authority just so they’ve got some more garbage to post on YouTube in order to look like the alpha male next time they’re quaffing Stella in their flat-roofed council estate drinking establishment.

How ridiculous.

If someone tried to give me a yellow card, i don't think I'd be very polite.

Actually MiD, or claimed to be MiD? If it wasn't witnessed (and was actually disputed by witnesses) then I can't see how it would happen.

There’s a whole genre on YouTube of people who go around provoking a discussion or argument depending on which camp you come from

https://youtu.be/NqqvdtQXsfY

Lots and lots of these videos. All bizarre. A friend of mine does that role in Basingstoke but thankfully not on shift by the looks of it

Actual MiD.
It was written up by the aircraft captain.
(See my point regards adoration of the floor space occupied by certain individuals.)

one of those fake american cop cars?

If it was a stereotypical crown victoria or something you could understand as people hire them for proms, shows etc.

There was some guy arrested with one as he was definitely a walt and would dress up as a US cop.
