Opted for Bois du Portugal yesterday morning. It packs some punch and has the most staying-power of all the Creeds so needs to be used sparingly; I don't often wear it because I'm concerned it might be overpowering in the office but it got a good number of positive comments. Might break it out more often.

What sort of scent is it? Sweet, woody etc?

Very warm, woody with a hit of citrus. Top notes are bergamot and lavender, heart note is cedarwood and base note ambergris, vetiver and sandalwood.

Thanks. I absolutely love Sandalwood, I’ll get a sample.

Picked up some Club De Nuit in the black friday sale, The aventus creed clone/knock off/similar smelly thing that alot of people recommend, Seems to be controversial, Some say its as near identical others stamp their feet and shout down anyone that says so. Was down to £21 for 105ml so thought id give it a try.

First spray, Theres definately some creed there and the biggest smell definitely has that pineapple fruitier side of creed. Although it has a sort of chemically aroma backdrop that I cant quite put my finger on. I would summarise as being about 75/80% of Creed but with a bit of a chemically/alkaline lingering.

Havent had a chance to see how long it stays etc but compared to my last decant of creed, It doesnt have much to beat., But first impressions I would say it was at least worth £21 quid.

Are there any low priced aftershaves that are wearable?

I doff my hat to those who pay £230+ for the aftershaves mentionned above but really looking for something a bit more affordable.

Good suggestion.

Similar to Aventus but much cheaper.

Longer lasting than recent batches of the Creed, too.

It’s great stuff but still not that cheap.

You can get 120ml for £75, I'd say that's a bit of a bargain tbh.

I am in a secret santa draw at work, maximum price £10, are there any aftershaves that you would buy again at less than £10?

eta, Cannot believe how many Beckham aftershaves there are, all under £10 and most under £5.

It’s a bargain but not bargain basement.
Encre Noir is really good if you’re on a tight budget at less than £20.

Notino have some good deals from time to time

With the caveat that, imo, that there's sod all staying power.

Which is annoying, because it's really nice stuff.

Haven't heard of Encre Noir, is it any good?

Notino are great for a bargain, had quite a few Amouage bottles from them on the cheap.

It's alright, for £17 it's worth a purchase imo-
