I don't wear it these days but might get some more, my problem is I have this habit of trying them on in airport duty free shops, then get on a plane for several hours and associate the smell with that misery, compounded because I tried a couple on and cant now escape it.

Going to try a few, tried Paco Rabanne Million the other day in Boots, didn't get on with that, Cloying and sickly.

In the past I have had Drakkar Noir, Fahrenheit, New West, Rapport., Moschino and a Karl Lagerfeld one called Photo that was quite nice, a whiff of any of them is like a time machine back to the period I had it in.

Drakkar Noir I bought aged 18 after winning a car and had a few quid, Fahrenheit was end of my single days into marriage, New West is lads holidays and Rapport just reminds me of my clubbing days.

Actually found some New West and it smelt the same but I have had more tolerance to it then, still smells nice but Jesus its pungent !

I've said it a few times but, as it's a new page smile Mancera Cedrat Boise for an Aventus-y scent that doesn't break the bank.

I'm wearing Aventus today, and I agree that it doesn't have the same oomph as the stuff from a few years back.

It's not olfactory fatigue either, coz I only ever wear Aventus once or twice a month.

The next bit is probably gonna be controversial, but I purchased the best sellers bundle from Copycat about a month ago.

Aventus was part of the bundle but I ignored it since I have the real stuff. A couple of weeks ago I decided to try it anyway.

...and you know what? I reckon it's better than real Aventus and lasts longer. Well, versus the batches of late, anyway.
I bought that pack aswell. Quite impressed. Very nice smell, although quite different to Aventus.

Fully expecting the pi$$ to be taken but

Brut

Because my Dad wore it in his younger days, I always liked the smell and every time I put it on it reminds me of him (he's not dead)

I've had a few favourable comments from women, about the smell

Maybe their dad's used to wear it biggrin
I wear Hai Karate in the hope that Valerie Leon might be nearby

Someone at work cakes themselves in this. It's quite an offensive Aventus smell.. but very Aventus, if that makes sense?
thats pretty much how I would grade it, It definitely has some aventus but seems to have an overpowerful background smell that I cant quite put my finger on. I got it for £21 so was worth a try, It can go into the other dailys pile.

Buying from amazon. If it’s sold by amazon and dispatched by amazon there is no chance it would be a dodgy copy is there ? Amouage lyric woman for reference.

I do have a preferred brand..

I've got a Portofino Neroli somewhere as well.

I tend to buy a new one when I go through Heathrow T3. Definitely prefer the fresher blue / green bottle fragrances but the heavier ones certainly have their place. Portofino Neroli is still my return-to favourite though.

Gents, what is the difference between Aventus and Aventus cologne? Is it a higher aromatic scent content hence why it's more expensive?

Cologne is the new one, I haven't tried it. I don't believe it's the same smell.

It's very similar just less smokey than the original. Aka a bit rubbish.

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver edt today. One of my favourite citruses.

I haven't tried the real stuff, but the copycat version was in the bundle I received.

Kinda like it, I think. Although, it has hints of Mugler A for men, which I'm not convinced about.

Anyone smelled both the copycat version and the real one?
