Bloke who makes fk-tons of money from selling very expensive fragrance suggests wearing lots of the stuff, topped up at regular intervals. Even when you're going to bed. Who'd have thought it?

Thanks for the recommendation, will add to my next sample order.

Yep.

That video pretty much suggests you should have a large collection of Tom Ford, and pour gallons of it over yourself throughout the day.

I can imagine other employees at Tom Ford are frightened to get in the lift with him for fear of collapsing due to the fumes.
It's nice to smell nice. People Women at work really do notice and will comment.

Today on 'daddy day care' duty so D&G Light Bue. Might try Neroli Portofino tomorrow at work.

Also need to make a decision re Isla Tropical.

Opinions on Layton by Parfums de Marly? Gets huge amount of praise online. Ordered a sample a while back and wore to work a few times...it was ok. Somewhat underwhelmed given the expectation.

Are you buying because you like it or buying to get the biggest reaction at work ?

There both pretty different ways of shopping.

It is indeed nice to smell nice, but I think you have to be slightly mindful that other people may not appreciate your fragrance, especially in an office. I always go easy on applying a fragrance when I know I’m going to be in a office.

Tom Ford seems to suggest you should apply so much of it that people eyes are watering, plastic furniture begins to melt, and smoke detectors are set off by the fumes biggrin

Also know what fragrance goes with what season.

Don't be wearing some mega rich heavy fragrance in summer .

If anyone is after 'normal' designer fragrances, Boots is 10% off until this Sunday. Just ordered Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme.
Picked up a bottle of this on the weekend and whilst it smells very good, it seems to only last about 20 mins..! Have I got a duff bottle? My Bleu de Chanel lasts for ages, was hoping this would be similar...
I've put this on this morning and by mid-morning couldn't smell it in the slightest. I'm going to take it back to Boots and see if they'll swap it out for another one.
Bit odd, maybe a duff bottle? Have you used it before or is the first bottle? I used mine today before work and duration seemed ok.

I find with fragrances I've used regularly, that I get used to them fairly quickly so although I can't smell them on me easily, others can.

Let us know how you get on.
I popped into the nearest Boots to my office which stocks Chanel (not all of them do - who knew?) and they've exchanged it for me. Annoyingly it's down a tenner since I bought it on the weekend - suppose I could do a sneaky refund now I've got a sealed one? Seems like hassle just to save £10 though...

If I decide to just crack on with this one (likely) I'll see how the longevity compares. It's from a different store some distance away so hopefully a different batch.

I also have some Parfums Vintage Emperor Extrait on the way which I'm splitting with BrabusMog. I have genuine Aventus from a 2017 batch so it'll be interesting to see how it compares.

You should get a smaple of essense vaults aventus clone and see how it compares .

I think it's pretty similar to old blend pine-appely aventus but not my cup of tea .

What's the correct PV Aventus clone? Is it emperor extrait? The table on their site is a tad confusing! Might as well give it a go with the discount code!

On a separate note, I ordered Bentley Azure from Notino, will report back when received!
As said above by g3org3y, Emperor Extrait is their copy of the circa 2014-2016 era Aventus, which is generally considered to be better than the batches that came after that.

I have Emperor Extrait and am extremely happy with it. It does indeed smell like the ‘old’ Aventus, but lasts really well, probably better than the recent Creed offering.

These lot are very good. The two I have are much stronger and longer lasting than the originals.

The replacement Allure Sport is better but still not the longest-lasting one I've ever had.

Isn't allure sport just a blue fragrance ?

There never renowned for being long lasting just clean and shower gel fresh ( briefly).

Last year i got a load of pdm samples , Pegasus is a summer scent that lasts pretty well but no way is it worth buying a bottle at full price just to smell like shower gel .

The only tears I elicit are tears of joy when staff come into my room. hehe

That's why I love Light Blue.

May give Neroli Portofino a go tomorrow.

Isla Tropical Prive arrived.

Definitely a lot more lime than Virgin Island Water and this dominates in the opening. Still a far whack of coconut though. Dry down has a good lime/coconut mix.

Seems a bit heavier and more long lasting than VIW.

I’m not a connoisseur of fragrances by any means, but this one is my favourite. Always wear it on nights out. I’ve never had anyone comment on it though surprisingly.

I had been picking up small amounts of Aventus from Toms Creed Decants regularly - sadly now closed down (found via this thread years ago, lurked ever since) and have noticed the change in fragrance. Even more so since having the original, the cologne, and then "for her" in the house. I do rate the Aventus Cologne as a lighter option.

I purchased an Emperor Extrait last month, and can confirm it is really true to form, lotsa pineapple. On a whim, I ordered a 100ml bottle of Aventus from the main Creed website last week... it's here, and nothing like what I recall. Very good, don't get me wrong, and more than happy with it - but more into the smokey musk scent, less fruit. Really happy to have both options to be honest.

Do you think they've changed the ingredient's ?

It always used to smell like toned town spice bomb with a bit of old spice but this latest batch is pretty gingery.

Are you talking about the original or the new Cologne version?
