Fair enough, i guess im just being anal/bored and trying to figure it out and then price it per ml if that makes sense.

To my nose, LG and Splend are not the same but then to my nose, i can never smell the vanille(a) in Tom Fords Tobacco and Vanille and only smell the tobacco. Yet ive got a friend who can only smell the Vanille in it and not the tobacco
To be honest as its niche may sell really quickly or take ages, I am finding it best to price it a few quid higher than I'd like, tick promoted listings and take the small percentage hit, and add best offer allowing a couple of quid discount. This seems to get the most interest.

I have sold tons of 10ml penhaligons I bought in the sale, kept the mens, sold the womens.

There's no issue with posting stuff you're selling here now since the demise of the 'non-motoring' section of the classifieds. In the Scale Models section there's even a dedicated thread for selling and swapping Lego etc.

This.

I’ve sold quite a few things in this thread and in the ‘watches for sale’ thread.

I'd rather spritz myself from a catheter bag than ever have to smell Elite again.

Sadly not. I used every last drop and haven't replaced it.

It was truly excellent, but when I looked at buying another bottle it was over £103 for 50ml (inc delivery) due to price rises and our exchange rate against the dollar, and I decided enjoy different 'daily driver' fragrances instead, and to be honest, having worn Aventus for years, I was fancying a change.

But, once my bottle of EE was used up, I did kind of miss having that Aventus smell available, and given the ridiculously cheap price, I couldn't resist buying 105ml of Armaf Club De Nuit Intense for £26, just to try it out.

Is it as good as EE? No, it is not. The opening is rough and plastic smelling, and you can tell it is clearly made to a price, but, once the opening dries off within 2 mins, it quickly becomes a pretty convincing, and very pleasant, Aventus-a-like. It also lasts way better than you would expect for an EDT. You'll still be smelling it 6 hours later, and on clothing you can still smell it the next day.

If someone walked past me in the street wearing Armaf, I would assume it was Aventus.

EE never smelt anything other than excellent and high quality, and the longevity was, as we all know, insane. Pretty much all day. It is still worth the £100 it now costs, as it is way better than genuine Aventus and less than half the price, but I guess it is just personal choice over how much value you place on the increase in quality between Armaf and EE.

For the moment I'll wear the Armaf on the days I want that Aventus feeling, and Cedrat Boise has also become a daily driver Aventus replacement for me, as it does give that Aventus vibe, smells fresh, fruity, and very high quality, but with more blackcurrant than pineapple, and I really enjoy it.
Fair point re EE. Yes, defo much more expensive than it used to be. I'm about half way through mine. I'd only consider it when on discount.

I have come to the realisation, that weirdly, I don't like many of the big name, mass-appealing, versatile fragrances.

Over the last 12 months or so, I have tried:

Bleu de Chanel
Sauvage
Ralph's Club
YSL Y
Prada Luna Rossa Ocean
Acqua Di Gio Profondo

All designed to be universal crowd-pleasers, compliment getters, for wearing in all occasions, loved by all, hated by no one, raved about by reviewers, and so on.

I honestly didn't like any of them. I really didn't. To my nose, Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage just smelled horribly metallic, Ralph's Club,YSL Y, and Prada Ocean just all smelled soapy, cloying and very generic like they could be anything, and Profondo smelled sour to me.

Really strange, but it just shows how different everyones sense of smell is. Or maybe mine got broken and never recovered after Covid hehe
Lord Marylebone has officially become a fragrance snob. tongue out

I agree with Sauvage - not for me.
Bleu de Chanel - the PAEFUM is quite a lot nicer/smoother than the EDT or EDP. If I was buying again, that would be my choice (I have the EDT in my collection).

I have it.

It's so good that it's almost unfair to call it a "knock off", imo.

I'm actually wearing this today. I think it's actually quite mild, as she says, it's a bit different, but I do like it.

Come on man! You can't say that when I have bottles costing £26 in my collection! biggrin

Niche fragrances, or 'fragrance house' offerings aren't anything special to me to be honest, and I do love a standard issue designer frag. Spicebomb Extreme as I mentioned earlier, and my other current favourite is Moncler Pour Homme at £60. Love the stuff.

I just find it odd that I don't like the smell of say YSL Y EDP for example, when clearly it is extremely popular and well regarded. It made me question my sense of smell.... and my sanity.

What's the view on how long scents will last, if they're in the dark? I have so much, went a bit overboard, and will probably never get through it all before I die!

I bought (and overpaid for, as I wanted it there and then) Dior Homme Intense EdP, in the hope it would be similar to Dior Homme Parfum. Nowhere close, and (on me) zero longevity.

Also took a punt on Mancera Cedrat Boise EdP, which the other half seems to love.

ALSO took a punt on Lattafa Khamrah EdP, which is a bit weird, but nice overall.

Add this to the various TEV fragrances, plus a lot of other stuff in the cupboard, it's a bit mad.

Did anyone hear the recent Radio 4 'Sliced Bread' on copycat frags?

Many years. I found some old ones in a cupboard originally bought in the 90's and they still smelled exactly as I remembered them.

Hello all,

I’ve got loads of fragrances, most of the fancy stuff (Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait, Killian Moonlight in Heaven, Le Labo Santal 33) and I’ve tried to sell 5ml decanters on eBay and vinted, despite the popular demand, eBay and vinted took all my adverts down multiple times despite me changing the wording and pictures which is a massive pain.

I’ve considered launching a website but I’m not trying to turn a profit and run a decant business.

I’ve got loads of fragrances that I barely use so just wanted to offload some, give others the opportunity to try £300 + fragrances for £10

I’ve researched and for each 1ml, you get 7-10 sprays depending on the nozzle, so with 5ml, you get at least 35 sprays

If anybody is interested in what I have/am offering, drop me a PM
