I'll be popping in to their shop in London next week to have a few smells.
With regards to the lack of longevity, Halfeti lasted on me all day no problem and I could tell the change in notes. I absolutely love Millesime Imperial by Creed but it lasts less than an hour on me but a mate wears it and says it lasts all day for him. Speaking to my mum a year or so ago and she said people's skin can react in different ways and that's why you get a variation in projection/longevity. No idea if that's true or she was talking rubbish but it does seem to be a plausible reason.

I'm a fan of Endymion when it comes to the Penhaligon's lineup. Sartorial doesn't work with me, it smells like I've just sprayed myself with 3-in-1 oil.
For me, the longevity of it is pretty good - being able to smell it on clothes the next day however it does seem to be a smell that you get used to quickly, and therefore tend to filter out despite others being able to pick up on it for a number of hours.

My personal favourite is Tom Ford Ambre Leather 16. My misses bought me a bottle at £148. We wandered into Debenhams the other day and it's no longer on their private collection and you can now buy it at £82 a bottle as Ambre Leather. She aint happy but when I run out and renew, it's easier to swallow at that price.
Like for like ? Parfum vs toilette etc?Recently quite taken with Zoologist Elephant - very green/woody and a million miles from its pachydermic oily burnt-rubbery smoky cousin Rhinoceros.
New samples incoming:-
Amouage - Bracken
Amouage - Beach Hut
Amouage - Dia
MDCI - Invasion Barbare
Ormond Jayne - Man
Bond No 9 - Bleecker St

Have added a few new Creeds from Tom - Original Vetiver, Viking and Bois du Portugal. Like them all, although the BdP took a while to mellow out and is more of an evening/night-time scent I think - a little heavy for wearing in the office.
Still waiting for him to get Tom Ford in, although I also picked up a bottle of Noir Anthracite the other day on sale.

I bought JPG Ultra Male a few months back. Have really enjoyed it. I think it's better than the original Le Male since they reformulated it.
Now into autumn, been using Mugler's Pure Malt more. I used samples of Spicebomb and Spicebomb Extreme last year but never committed to purchasing a bottle. Sometimes I try it and really love it, sometimes I feel it's a bit sickly. At the moment, still unconvinced. I may try Creed's Green Irish Tweed again.

I've always been funny with fragrances, not much I like. Can spend half an hour sniffing stuff in John Lewis only to walk out with another bottle of Cool Water.
Anyway, the Mrs and I were in Selfridges a few weeks ago and a guy was spraying Creed. The Mrs was blown away, I quite liked it too. £170, for 50ml, fk off.
Looking around online I realised I wasn't sure which of the Creed scents we had tried. Went into another shop and got card sticks of several and brought them home, turns out we liked Aventus. Bought a 50ml decant from a guy on Basenotes for £64, much more reasonable! From the sticks, Viking was probably second favourite, didn't like green irish tweed despite being a coolwater fan. Basenotes guy also threw in 5ml of Dior Homme Sport, which I also like.
Kind of gave me the bug though, so i ordered some samples from Scentsamples
Creed Bois Du Portugal (didn't have this in the shop) - Wasn't sure at first, smells a bit 'old man', but wore it once and quite liked it
Amouage Reflection - quite feminine but I do like it, would be a rare wear though so may just buy a 5 or 10ml sample which should last decades
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver - Really like this, quite understated. Going to buy a 100ml bottle of the parfum
Tom Ford Tuscan Leather - Really hate it! Tried it again on my skin today and christ after scrubbing I can still smell it. No idea why people rave about this one.
In Boots earlier I tried;
Dior Homme, both parfum and intense - not sure about either
RL Polo Green - Nope
Gucci Pour Homme - Yes please, will probably grab one of these
Dior Fahrenheit - Nope
Any recommendations for samples based on my likes and dislikes?

I'm not keen on leathery fragrances either so you might like some of the following which are my favourites from ones I've sampled.Virgin Island Water (2007) - Creed
Terre d'Hermès (2006) - Hermès
L'Air du Desert Marocain (2005) - Tauer
Spice and Wood (2010) - Creed
Cacharel Pour L'Homme (1981) - Cacharel
Neroli Portofino (2007) - Tom Ford
Noir de Noir (2007) - Tom Ford
Oud Wood (2007) - Tom Ford
Sycomore Eau de Toilette (2008) - Chanel
Musc Ravageur (2000) - Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
Shooting Stars : Nio (2009) - Xerjoff
X Twist Tabac (2017) - Clive Christian
Casamorati 1888 Mefisto (2009) - Xerjoff
Bit of a left field one here but a colleague said I should try it because of my love for Chanel Pour Monsieur EDP, so I did. Azzaro Wanted EDT. Had a spray which was very pleasant and found out Boots were selling 100ml half price for 30 quid, so I've bought it as my midweek daily. Lasts a while, too.
And to the poster who got a load of samples off of ScentSamples - take a look at Toms Creed Decants - he's about 45 quid for 30ml of Creed.

Thanks for that, I've just ordered 10ml each of Terre D'Hermes and Thierry Mugler Havane & Malt from a different basenotes guy. I do need to try an Oud.Virgin Island Water (2007) - Creed

For Creed splits I'd thoroughly recommend Tom, much cheaper than scentsamples:Anyway, the Mrs and I were in Selfridges a few weeks ago and a guy was spraying Creed. The Mrs was blown away, I quite liked it too. £170, for 50ml, fk off.

Based on what you've said, I'd recommend you try Himalaya, Original Vetiver and Silver Mountain Water from Creed as well.
