I'm eligible through work to access the above scheme.

Was wondering if anyone had used it recently and the best way to go about it.

I'm hearing stories that it can be better to go into the dealership & negotiate a deal as a normal customer before presenting the privilege voucher which will then get a further discount?

Or are the offers advertised on the various privilege schemes generally as good as you are likely to get?

Also - anyone any idea on the difference between a my17 Focus & a 16.25my?

Just ordered a ST3 wagon in diesel (I know!!). Negotiating is so 20th century..

1.) Put details into carwow.
2.) Find cheapest deal
3.) Contact dealer with privilege voucher
4.) Order car
5.) Drink beer
6.) Be smug

There is a dealer in Ipswich who specialise in privilege sales who came very close to our chosen deal, so they might be worth a call if you favour that approach.

Thanks for the reply.

Does the privilege voucher then give you a further discount over and above the best car wow price?

Is it a set %?

Privilege isn't a fixed percentage. It's a fixed value per car. Some cars much bigger discounts than others.

I used it when I ordered my fiesta ST, was another £625 off the price, presented the voucher to the dealer, he had it authorised and it was sorted

Had another £500 off for having a test drive and registering the car in July.

I use it to lease my focus ST2, as do most people I work With.

15k a year
initial paymentt= £500
monthly repayments= £270

you have Option to Change car every 9 months which most seem to do, rather than keep for the 3 years.

PCH or PCP? I would have thought with PCH you wouldn't have the option to change at 9 months.

I have used it twice through PCP for Fiestas, both through John Grose Ipswich. Found them the best on price. I changed it at 9 months

They run the website employeevoucher.co.uk

Bump on this one.

Took a deal out on a Fiesta 11 months ago - hear stories of people trading in / chopping in the deal after 9 months to change car.

Any advice on the best way to do this - is it basically starting a new deal or is there some other trick in there?

Thanks

No different to any other purchase, you can chop the car in whenever you want but no idea if there's any money in it. I'm assuking you bought on finance/PCP, in which case just speak to the dealer.

History lesson. just to clarify:
Back in the day (i.e. 20 years ago) when Privilege deals were 25-30% off list price, the people using the scheme could chop in every 9 months at what they used to refer to as "no cost to change". It was almost a procession, every 9 months on the dot. Ford changed the Privilege scheme maybe 10 years ago, changing it from a fixed % to a specific £ value off each model, so the discounts weren't as generous but you could haggle with the dealer more readily.

I think Ford RVs have been dropping slowly in recent years, so the whole 9 month changeover is no longer realistic if you want to come out on a no cost to change basis.

Got just over 3k off a 2017 Focus ST-line (1.5tdci unfortunately) in February with the Privilege discount. Also got a decent deposit contribution for taking out finance too.

I've changed twice now on the 9 month time and it's worked out well.

First time went Fiesta to Fiesta. Trade in covered settlement figure so was just starting again, I only put down 1 months deposit on both deals.

Second time I changed Fiesta to Focus, same thing in terms of settlement versus trade in.

Focus is 9 months old in September and it's likely I will do the same again.

Normally it makes sense as well as you avoid any servicing costs which are around £180 I think for first year in a Fiesta.

Seems good. A guy at work does it as his dad used to work for Ford and in the last 3 years or so he's had a Fiesta ST, a Focus ST diesel, a Fiesta ST MP215 and now a new Kuga ST-Line, all for seemingly very little outlay!
