For anyone who can compare, how do Speed Cats compare to the likes of, say, Nike Frees? I know the Free is designed as a running trainer but I've found they're actually pretty fantastic for behind the wheel. I end up using them for that more than I do for running. Quite a bit pricier than the £45 deals on the Puma website though.

Speed Cats are narrower than and other trainer I've found, particularly across the ball of the foot. Future Cats were good too, but I don't like the Ferrari ones.

Whilst for everyday use they're unnecessary, I can't drive the Caterham in anything else without hitting all 3 pedals at once.

I like Pump Speed Cats, however I do prefer the Adidas Taekwondo shoes, they're super comfortable, give more sensation through the sole than anything else and as slim as can be.

But Pumas will last much longer...those kung fu-inspired Adidas soles are paper thin. wink

Well, it depends how often and where you're wearing them. I have 3 pairs that still look pretty new after a year, maybe they wont last as long as Speed Cats, but they do work better in terms of providing comfort and feedback (in my humble opinion).

Are these normal sizes?

I'm normally a size 10, but some of my running shoes are 10.5. I have a feeling these are the same and I need a 10.5.

Thanks

I'd say go half a size larger than normal and be aware they are a narrow fit.

Not sure about the size being normal.

My shoes are always size 9.5 and my speed cats are 10.5.

I bought them for track days in a Westfield as other shoes led to some "moments" when I caught the accelerator at the same time as the brake. eek

Mine are used for everything and can be seen;
1) Being dragged along behind the lawn mower
2) Up a ladder
3) In the pub, as it is a walk from home
4) Under a suit (when filling up on the way to / from work which is a long drive)

They are very comfortable for driving long distances in the daily driver. They are looking suitably bedraggled now, so ordered up a new pair this morning.

Thank you for the tip, new pair ordered, although I also liked the Loakes mentioned earlier ion the thread.

I clicked their size guide thing and they said they come up small? I'm an 11 in adidas, usually a 10 in shoes, the guide said I was a 9.5 in the pumas!!?? I went with a 10 anyhow and will have to see how it goes!?

A right mix of sizes there then. laugh

Man maths - order one in a 10.5 and one in an 11, just to be safe.

Thanks.

Mine arrived (missed yesterday's delivery by literally ten minutes), collected my parcel today. Chose UPS, not ParcelFarce.

Bought UK 11 (my regular Adidas/Puma/Nike/Converse etc size), tried one on without the socks, and the fit is pretty much spot on. Perhaps tiny bit too big, no issue though. I'm pleased. smile

On the box is says UK 11, US 12, EU 46.

I have 4 or 5 pairs of these, I was tempted by the link but I find them utterly useless in the wet.

I love them for driving and wearing but within minutes of going out in the rain (this happens a lot in Scotland) they are soaking.

Never actually thought there where actual driving shoes about biggrin. Ive always worn either my big work steelys (although Ill admit they are a pain to drive with) or my swed (thats not how you spell that is it? biggrin) 'skateboarder' trainers. Might look into them, the heel is begining to come off my current trainers.

I ordered a blue pair with delivery via UPS, they arrived this morning and were sitting on the doorstep, as I'd specified that on the app, when I woke up after a nightshift 😄

You know what bks to it, They are on special for £40 for the moment and I actually like the look of the black set. How do these wear out of curiousity? I love to wear the same shoes for years until the sole wears through, these look skinnyer and less heft than the vans/etnies stuff I usually wear, do they stand up to abuse or are they only made for sitting on your arse?
