'Not around'

Like it like it like it

My mate wasn't around for 3 months last year after being caught doing 108 on a dual carriageway in Pinner.

I seem remember that. Robbed an off licence and tried to get away on a disability scooter didn't he?

Hope he's leant his lesson.

There's another thread:

Tell Us About Your Conception - according to family legend

To my father's intense discomfort my mother would announce at family gatherings that I was conceived upon his triumphal return from spectating at Le Mans in 1953.

Apparently, they considered having Le Mans as my middle names. They didn't do it but they thought about it.

True.

Allegedly.

Daily Telegraph please note, the past participle of the verb tread is not treaded.

Treaded.

I ask you.

Due to overwhelming interest in my teaser post the other evening about the little house on Long Lane and what became of the plot, I stopped on the way home last night for a progress photo. This is how it was:

And this is how it is now:

The new garage is as big as the old house.

If I'm honest no interest was expressed but I thought I'd post it anyway.

Jolly good, carry on along those lines. Work hard, make us proud.

This house on Long Lane business, I wonder why that bloody 'phone box is still there?

Maybe it's some sort of listed structure?

Good Lord. Would the blue thing just behind the fence have any bearing on that?

I expect most people would pass it off as a Portaloo.

Oh, that. That's a TARDIS with its Chameleon Circuits still functioning. The Time Lord who staggered out of it set off on foot for The Diamond Tap, the Wetherspoons in Newbury. It's a perilous journey for anyone, not just Time Lords; there are no footpaths between Priors Court Road and the Cemetery in Shaw.

Sounds quite an ordeal. Hope he made it ok, footpaths or not.

Do a good breakfast in those places. Apparently.

Actually, the one in Whitley Bay does a very good all day menu, plenty of choice.

Friend of mine had to take his granddaughter there a while back as it's one of the few places in the area one can get a decent chicken nugget.

Good steak with a pint of Kronenberg for a fiver too. The Old Fire Station it's called.

Wouldn't go there myself though.

just been told I've passed the first stage of interviews and I've now got an interview late next week at the financial ombudsman offices. been out of work for a little while so nervous as hell. mainly nervous because of it's location and notoriety.
