Since becoming involved with the secondhand car trade I have discovered how little more you have to pay for a good car than a dodgy one. It's worth shopping around. Good, well cared for cars do exist. Part of the exercise is to find them. If the advert says 'no time wasters' go somewhere else. One man's time wasting is another man's close inspection.
Oh i know, i was stupid enough to buy something with only a cursory test drive, and waaaaay too high expectations.

On closer inspection, i suspect the little car has had a little shunt in the past, and tie-wraps rather then proper hose clamps are never a good sign.

And if I can't get the bloody bloody bloody crossflow enging running properly after its rebuild and a further three months retiming the cam and pissing about with the mixture, timing and jets then I'm going to have to bite the bullet and chop it in for another one that someone else has already built . fk it. Sod the world. Total waste of time.
Go on with you, you loved every second of it. You wouldn't have it any other way. It's what you've always dreamed of. How else would you have spent the time?

I've had a recalcitrant CVH before.

I sold it.

I went to Crete once, not much happening at all really. I think it was probably half day closing.

There's a place called Crieff in Scotland which is a bit closer to Scarborough if that helps?

Anybody on here geocache? I'm considering taking the kids out this weekend and we've exhausted all standard places to visit in our town.

All upside down this week. Usually it's bacon baguettes from Greggs on a Friday and Breakfast baps from McDonald's on a Saturday but the short week has upset everything. For reasons already forgotten we had bacon baguettes on Tuesday and I'm fairly certain that's where the trouble started. I really fancy a breakfast bap today. This way chaos lies. Can order ever be restored?

The clutch hydraulics on Mrs B's car have ceased to be. My usual mechanic chap is away on holiday so I'm having a bash at it myself today.

I've got a new master cylinder and some DOT 4 fluid. I'm not sure whether to use it all to flush and bleed the system or reserve some for half time refreshment.
