Just watched an edition of Worlds most expensive cars, never seen it before.

Iso Grifo been in a barn for a few years, parked in a field also before that, rotten through and through.
Auction estimate 30-50K £,sold for 110K + fees to a phone bidder .

Auction fella reckoned the roof was only thing stopping it from folding.

I had a Corgi,Matchbox whatever Grifo as a kid, possibly the first Italian exotic I was aware of.

ETA....car bought for 8K in 1988 apparently.

Not a bad profit .

Someone must have said, "Break a leg," just as they went on stage.

Today I am mostly looking for something to do. Yesterday was changing the hot water cylinder the old one had 20" of scale in it. Then replaced all the oak boards on the 'patio set' with some seasoned stuff from a local mill as the old ones had 20" of bend in them.

This is the sawmill which gives added interest to going there. Prizes for what the semi circular ring embedded in the ground across the front of it was for.

Errrr... dunno, have you got a smaller photo of it? I'm in danger of actually being able to make out a detail in that one hehe

Imagination required there I'm afraid, it's a big semi circular channel embedded in the ground that goes from the right corner to left corner and sticks out about 15m in the middle. There's actually one the other side too.

I think Bomma will nail it if no one else does first

An anti-aircraft gun emplacement.

It's not the answer, it's more benign Tourettes.

Morning all, bit late on parade this morning. Not too good on the Ker Plunk front, 3 - 1 down at the mo.

I reckon that steel beam could be part of an old HAS (hardened aircraft shelter)? A hangar of some sort, I'd wager.

It's a blister hangar, with spaceframe rafters and front & rear, and there would have been a tarpaulin sheet attached to the curved roof edge a bit like a tent-end but on semi circular runners set into the ground. When both sides were pulled shut there's enough space to fit a B17 to work on.
Rare but can still be seen. The front and rear walls are modern.

A B17? Good Lord, that's a good size.

Anyhow, quite fancy a Chinese takeaway tonight. Not really sure what to order, any suggestions?

Whilst preparing for a rendition of Enola Gay I thought I'd better check before giving it the full 120 decibels.

Enola Gay was a B29.

Helluva week coming up. They say the best way to cope with extreme stress is to turn it into a high level of excitement.

What's that funny smell?

For clarity, if the first post refers to the forthcoming week does the second post refer to the week after? Is this a bit of a fortnight we're dealing with here?
