but don't some of these 'travellers' favour pick-up trucks? perhaps they may know of the miscreants?
I have to admit that I've never tried stealing a cash machine using a telehandler, it might be more difficult than I think, but they do seem to be making hard work of it - did the first hit shove it right to the back of the bank?
every summer we get a spate of this. all of the co-ops local to mkt bosworth have moved to those small cashmachines and placed them as far back from the front of the shops as possible.

this is where i would look if i was plod, but you know plod and gypsy sites

Apparently in the last year West Midlands councils have between them spent almost 1 million pounds in legal fees, repairs and clean up charges after traveller incursions onto public spaces. Add costs for clear up on private land on top of that except that falls on the landowners.

Sussex Police fly the traveller flag at their HQ, as part of an initiative to integrate them into the local community. Along with £500
for a community engagements project 'Gypsy Roma Traveller History' Month from money confiscation from criminals.

Who knows, maybe it will work and everyone will integrate smile

and from that article...

"Gypsies and Travellers are part of our communities and are given the same respect and opportunity, that we would give to anyone else."

I'd argue that they're being given a lot more than everyone else. Treated with kid gloves really arrested for offences which normal folk would have the book thrown at them for. I'd love for them to be treat the same as everyone else

So the police are going to impound the gypsies uninsured cars and vans, prosecute them for criminal damage, theft, etc?

That Superintendent is a fking idiot. The police wonder why they don't have the support of the public. I can't magine any MOP in Sussex being impressed by Sussex police.

Gents, I think I've found a solution to all your gypsie woes-

https://tanks-alot.co.uk/product/fv180-combat-engi...

Dig trenches, remove caravans and prompt the lovely caravan dwellers off your land all whilst in the safety of a fully NBC proof vehicle so even the smell of the filthy shed draggers won't offend your nostrils.

Well done Derbyshire police! This bunch thought they would have at least a week before they were shifted with a court order. The police evicted them on the second day for defecating in the park and causing a health hazard to the public

No arrests made, though? Just "move along, please" then?

Once again, the criminal behaviour of these low-lives is ignored?
Move along please, unfortunately, it looks like to the bottom end of Spondon (the rough end, so the travellers could actually walk around and people would be none the wiser, if the caravans weren't on the kids park).

Drove past 2 entrances to the park an hour or so ago, both with police tape on and police officers at one entrance and police vehicles on the park, the caravans etc were still there along with the travellers, however seemed as though the police were again pulling their fingers out to get them moved. I can't remember if they were there yesterday (drove past a few times), and don't think they were there on Wednesday.

Also noticed a recovery truck at one entrance with police officers, so looks like they may try and move them by force.

Nothing in the local paper about it, for some reason.

Direct action from local residents did the trick here, the travellers had the brass neck to call the police to help them.

How come every group of travellers that ends up on the receiving end of being fked around and intimidated swears blind they're "not like other travellers and don't do any harm"?
Is there one small group going around getting them all a bad name, and the press and media just happen to find them, every time?

Where has all that rubbish come from? I guess they are just charging people to take rubbish away but then just dumping it in that field.

They're clearly scum but the locals need to take ownership of the fact that they were paying unlicensed people, probably in cash to take their st away. If any of it is traceable the council can fine the original owner of the crap I believe.

This is the one near me I mentioned on the last page. It is an absolute tip and stinks (human waste etc). I agree that people paying them to get rid of their waste need to take ownership and hopefully some will be identified through the waste. They were only there a couple of weeks and there were a lot of vehicles there, 20 or 30 I think.

There is a backstory that the owners of the land have submitted several planning applications to develop it which have been knocked back. Some locals suspect that the travellers were encouraged onto the land, and now it will apparently take a while for the residents to raise the money for clear up. Possible that it's a ploy to help the next planning application...?
