Travellers.......

Those naughty police, saying unkind things about our jolly japing, misunderstood, savoury meat product eating, lock opening device friends. I particularly liked the following;
"It is high time we saw a root and branch review of the way the police treats Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, who deserve the same quality of service and policing as any other member of our society.”
I so wish they were subject to the "same policing as any other member of our society", it would solve a whole lot of the issue, right there.

Actually that is a good point. The few private sites near me have the same black iron gates with gold pointy bits. Maybe they fit nicely in the back of transits?QuantumTokoloshi said:

Ha, there's even litter strewn across the floor in that article pic.Those naughty police, saying unkind things about our jolly japing, misunderstood, savoury meat product eating, lock opening device friends. I particularly liked the following;

The Guardian - spouting politically correct bullst whilst missing the actual issue since man acquired the ability to think.

Found out this morning that a crowd of these people appeared in my local station car park yesterday. Town is mostly up in arms but police saying no need for alarm. I’m not taking any chances, first job when I get home is to secure the garage from the inside.
So since Sunday when the aforementioned crowd arrived we've had, stones and abuse thrown at locals, 5 vans broken into and last night a local off licence/convenience store was robbed at knifepoint. Not to mention actually dismantling the height restrictors to get into the car park in the first place. Highly unusual for the town as the most we ever get is nuisance behaviour by teenagers Emailed my local Councillor the other day who described them as a nuisance.It appears that the nuisance is becoming more of a threat.

Random (honestly random) streetview.
Fire, AIDS, cancer and a massive flood. That's what that cursed town needs.
They must be like pigs in st there, they've even got a big raggy old field covered in litter to make them feel really at home.Random (honestly random) streetview.

What is odd about this is the hand-wringers who are so worried about discrimination should be calling for tighter policing of Travellers. If they were demonstrably in taxed, insured, roadworthy vehicles, that did not fly-tip on greenbelt land and the owners used those vehicles to do paid, taxed employment, then there would be no discrimination against the community. Just checking that they are following the same rules as the rest of the community. If they were demonstrably doing that, they'd be welcomed.
I suspect that the community might head back to Ireland - but then that would also solve the discrimination issue.

I guess you mean permanently, if the tide turns against them? Currently they do that every winter, when it gets a bit chilly in the vans and there aren't as many outdoor jobs for them to turn people over for, or things left out which they can steal. They must stash cash during the summer and live off it in the lean winter months. Rinse and repeat next year, except now that they know that they truly are untouchable, they're throwing in a bit of rape and armed robbery for sts and giggles.Small group of three caravans has recently broken into a locked enclosure at the foot of the test track at Mercedes Benz World in Brooklands and set up commune.
3 days and it's already looking like a tip, and the Huf House showhome next door has had a glazier van there every morning so far. I'm sure it's just a coincidence through.
