The Govt are the problem in not applying the law equally.

And Travellers are not gypsies or romanies
a Traveller is not a race or religion it is a lifestyle

Lots round my way (Reading) this week again. invaded a local free outdoor swimming pool. Little scamps thought it a good idea to try and down as many of the local toddlers as possible (Very shallow outdoor free pool).

Fly tipping has also gone mad over the weekend too. My favourite is what looks like around 10 tonnes of "mixed" topsoil, dumped at the side of the road, causing an obstruction.

Along with half a cement mixer, a fridge with the copper bits removed and a bio-hazard mattress.

I completed that a few weeks back. It takes some time (and be cautious in your responses and terminology) but has to be worth a shot. In the (extremely unlikely) event that the authorities aren't properly aware of what goes on, this is the chance to tell them.

How on earth are the authorities classing these scum the same as Roma and protecting them?
I understand the Roma suffered during the Holocaust but not one Irish traveller died in the gas chambers.

Why don't the police arrest travellers to prevent a breach of the peace?= because they have no bottle!

Thing is proving any one individual was guilty of the breaking and entering and stealing. Proving they were on site is one thing, but the vandalism and theft is another.

What it needed was 40 plod swooping in and carrying them off. Then anyone on site whilst the theft and criminal damage is happening is guilty by joint enterprise (aren't they?).

Plod are very happy to make those sort of arrangements at the football when they're all on double-time, paid for by the clubs (so by the fans).

If a group of middle-aged men are riding sports bikes and one rides like a knob, it appears the police can charge all of them. Not so with our travelling cousins.

Loads of them in and around Reading at the moment causing all sorts of havoc.

My pal who is a local copper has had a ruck with a couple of them, but he's built like a brick sthouse and enjoys it when they kick off.

Completed yesterday - gave additional points regarding the clear bias within many local authorities, ie slurs of racism from LAs/councillors against people who complain about traveller camps and the resulting crime, the support of illegal sites by providing amenities at them; police threats and arrests of victims of crime who feel driven to defend themselves or their property from criminal travellers.

I also stated that it should be considered gross misconduct for this bias to continue to be displayed by LAs and police, amingst other comments.

I was surprised and disappointed at the later questions - ie, 'are you aware of barriers which hinder the development of permanent sites for travellers?', or words to that ilk - further, 'what do you anticipate the negative outcomes will be regarding the development and well being when permanent sites aren't provided?' etc etc.

The further you get into the survey the more you realise the inherent bias.
