Well, that was just the same. Which shows that Fry did not make QI.

But it's past its sell buy date I feel.

Not a big fan of QI but I enjoyed it tonight. I thought it better with her in the chair.

I havent seen it, however she was a good host on the news quiz (radio show). She's also been a decent QI guest so I don't see why she wouldn't be a good QI host.

This, haven't seen it yet but I will do. I liked Stephen Fry but Sandi will do a great job of it I'm sure.

After a couple of minutes I completely forgot she was the new presenter. And that's a good thing, she just seemed like she'd always been there.

Watched QI XL, it was funny, the bit with Sandi being every bit as smart as Fry was very funny, and the standout comedian was the Asian bloke, don't know his name, but he was very sharp. In fact that side of the room was excellent.

Thought she did it very well, still the funniest thing on Tv for me.

Sandi (understandably) seemed a bit nervous at the beginning, but got into the swing of things pretty quickly. Alan on good form.
Still one of the best things on TV after all these years!

It does work very well, such a simple format done very well. Alan Davies seems to have been given a slightly longer leash.

She was fine, but as they observed, she did seem to be 'channelling' Fry.

Perhaps with Fry gone, they've decided to make Alan less of a figure of Blackadder style ridicule... or maybe it was one of those oddball examples of where he gets to know the answers and will revert to type next week?

I think Jupitus got it right, after 14 years he knows the game! Plus he regularly gets stuff right, some stuff has rubbed off on him.

Got QI to watch tonight, Sandi is funny in her own right and will make a good host of the show. It just needs to be Sandi, not a Stephen ghost. It will come as the writing team etc all get used to the new dynamic of the show.

The cynic in me suggests with a female host means they won't have to have a token woman now

Agreed, see him on Mock the Week, and he's become a "do I watch it" guest

Blimey. When did Stephen Fry die? I missed that.

I hoped that as well, but they had one this week on the panel.

And now that the BBC has said token female, it does not matter if they are funny or not, because now I just think "You are only on this show to fulfill the BBC's gender targets". Just how patronising are the BBC to women ?

It's not the BBC. They've been ordered to do it by the government.

I don't see any mention of the government telling the BBC that here. It says it was the BBC Trust that told them to do it.

And on articles I've just found on the Telegraph's and Guardian's website on the matter make no mention of it either.
