It still doesn't explain what happened to it though.

Where did it disappear to? What made it melt and why did it suddenly reappear in such an obvious place?

I would guess that heat made it melt and any one of a thousand completely banal things could have happened to it. Do you think it was the paranormal world??

I obviously can't call that. It was something none of us could explain, and it tied into Sa Colabra's post quite well.

When I was younger & worked as a window fitter, I was left alone in this house (people that owned it were in the Army) & I remember going down stairs & feeling a lot of heat coming from the kitchen. I genuinely can't explain but all 4 gas rings were lit on the cooker but nobody was there apart from me. I did tell the owner of the house on his arrival & he did say that he thought the house was haunted. I didn't read to much into it & carried on doing my job. I can't explain why they were lit but they were.

I've just remembered another one.

My younger sister had her best friend at the time stay over one night. I was in the bathroom and could hear them chatting and laughing in her bedroom about general teenage stuff, when I heard a door slam so hard that it felt like the house shook.

I left the bathroom and saw it was my sister's door that was now closed when it had been open before. I went towards it as they gingerly opened it again. They were momentarily stunned into silence at this point.

They then said that they were minding their own, when 'bang' the door slammed shut with massive force. There were no windows or external doors open that evening btw.

My sister's friend said that her family had had poltergeist activity in their house before, and she reckoned it had followed her to ours. Possibly a naive comment, but it was a strange occurance all the same.

Uncomfortable, no.

Sorry for you, maybe.

I often take a poo and when I look into the bowl, there's nothing there. I call it the "ghost st".

There are many. I had genuinely forgotten about that one as it didn't directly involve me.

Also, I'll post as and when I feel like it, or have time to tbh, that's the way forums work isn't it?

Serious question - would you say that you/ghost believers were lacking in imagination?

I ask because I find it absolutely inexplicable that in the case of an event like that, none of you seem able to imagine any of the literally countless natural, plausible explanations for it and instead leap directly to paranormal.

It's by far the most unexplainable part of this thread.

One of us leapt to the paranormal explanation and that was my sister's 14/15 year old friend.

All I said was that it was a strange occurrence.

Well if you mention the P word, the snooty pack of dogs descend on you. I admit to playing some up sometimes by saying on here that I've gone for the paranormal explanation, but I always keep an open mind in reality.

Some of the things that have happened have been completely unexplainable though, that's all I can say.

I would advise those who claim to have seen/heard paranormal stuff to take a strong dose of a psychoactive drug. LSD or, better yet, DMT if you can get it. Reality is just automatic internal processes - the mind interprets light bouncing off things, the eardrum vibrates etc. It's all, quite literally, in your head. A hit of DMT will make you realise this pretty bloody quickly. Allegedly. Ghosts don't exist. It's absolute cobblers.

Who mentioned ghosts? Me, but previously in jest and links that are always up for discussion as photos are easily faked imo.

I have no idea.

Like I say, I've had many, some I haven't mentioned yet - not in this thread anyway.

I do read and take on board alternative (scientific) explanations, but as that person offering them wasn't there at the time, it's impossible to put themselves in the situation, and the explanations fall very well short I'm afraid.
