Roger Moore RIP.
The thin thread of connection is very long running with my family .
He had a house in the same road that my dad was brought up in ,my grandmother looked after him when he often stayed at a local hotel .All before fame came his way .
I used to see him every morning at Rank Film Studios when he was filming at nearby Pinewood .
Always a smile and a wave as his car came through the security Gates.
One of lifes gentlemen, women loved him many men wanted to be him .
Mission over Mr Bond .

Story:Actor Sir Roger Moore dies aged 89 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-40018...
Sir Roger was my Bond as the first 007 I saw was 'The Spy who Loved Me'.
Apparently a gentleman on and off screen and with a hardness that wasn't often seen in public. I'm paraphrasing but I remember an interview with Lee Marvin, actor and WWII U.S. Marine Purple Heart winner. Marvin was asked about various hard men he had met over the years and said that one who stood out and got his respect was Moore; apparently Moore was one of the few men who could drink as much as he could, still stand up, and could take a punch better than anyone else he'd met... 'Because I was the sonofabh that hit him'.
RIP Sir Roger Moore.
