Watching Dazed and Confused the other night did it for me!
What a film! Are there Cortez in it or was it just the '70s look you wanted? So many of the styles I have are probably more '80s, I might need to diversify a little. I can't remember updating this thread with my last purchase, but here's a pair of outlet specials.Nike Roshe Two, bought for £45 or thereabouts. These are destined to be a pair of beaters as my last pair of beaters, a pair of Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66, had the sole start splitting at the heel. I swear this doesn't happen with every pair of trainers I own. As beaters go these things are pretty comfortable. Being meshy they feel almost high-tech to someone whose trainers are all suede or leather.

out of curiosity what sites do you lot visit to find out about trainers that are coming out soon? not really interested in knowing about the next £300 pair of yeezys (or however much they cost). but rather regular trainers sub £100. adidas and nike have one on their sites but i'd much rather check 1 site (if there is one).
The sole supplier is a good start. Follow a lot of Instagram accounts (now I’ve signed up for about a year or so), but also speak to people in the stores loads, like what you did before the internet and social media... I hear about things way before mainly because of thisambuletz said:

So what does everyone use as their daily do everything pair?
I use Air Max 90 Mid Winters. Mostly waterproof, pretty subtle and hard wearing. Walked over 80 miles on them this month.
I have 3 pairs for rubbish weather. Some Air Force 1s (which are actually quite rare and would be worth quite a bit if I hadn’t beat them up), a pair of gazelles, and a pair of Air Max ZerosI use Air Max 90 Mid Winters. For everyday winter use, I've got a pair of maroon ZX700s and a pair of Air Max 90s with the crimson sole.
For summer, my old Spezials and the black/orange Jeans GTXs from a few pages back.
Also, my Puma Lab IIs are still used most days for rowing machine work, they are the most flexible trainers I have.

The Roshe Twos I posted above your post, or a pair of blue Puma Suede S (with the 'S meaning very little other than that the tongue is padded). While these get the brunt of my daily wear, I sometimes break out another pair. Today was a Samba Super day, for instance.Tipping my toe in to the thread for the first time. Can somebody recommend some trainers at the smarter end of the spectrum, going to pub/restaurants etc when I don't want to wear shoes. So not looking at any of the sports brands or sports direct specials. I used to wear onitsuka tigers (runspark) but they stopped doing them and I don't like the Mexico's. I don't want anything that is principally white, so darker colours ideally. Where should I be looking? I generally prefer a classic looking running style trainer. Had a quick look at geox vinto, but the one I like doenst have my size.
