That must have spectacular!

To be honest we couldn't see much of the real drama from Central Park, just light and sound.

There you are. This little lot has been going for 90 mins + over Kendal. Would've been better after dark. Been cloudburst city too!

We must have just caught a trailing corner of this weather front. Not so much as a single flash or rumble! Grateful for the temperature drop but was rather looking forward to the theatrics…

Just watching the rainfall radar, and can't see how the band of rain over Brittany can get to us on the south coast by 1pm as predicted by the BBC's weather report.

(Or is that just wishful thinking?)

If it's the app you're using, never trust them for accuracy!

Incoming along most of south coast... Looks severe.

Heaviest around Dorset.

Pic below is of the storm cell that hit us this morning, torrential downpour that lasted for about an hour, with claps of thunder. The second pic was taken a few minutes ago off to the west of the Island, again accompanied by rolling thunder. Reckon it'll hit Devon/Cornwall in about an hour in a south easterly wind.

Edit - just taken a peek at lightningmaps.org - wowzers, the activity off the Brittany coast!

We mistimed our departure a bit...I was putting the kayaks on the car to leave the beach. BBQ went well though.
