Keyless go in cars. Not a huge amount of use and introduces a massive security flaw (not that I'm bitter about my keyless go car getting pinched).
This. My MINI is keyless, but you still have a fecking huge key. At least give me somewhere in the dash to stow it.HTP99 said:
Some systems are better than others and work very well.
Bet they don't stop you loosing the key down the side of the seat when it falls out of your pocket. Or getting on the train when your wife gives you a lift to the station with the key still in your pocket, then having to turn round at the next stop because the car has turned its self off.
:-)
On the other hand I'd also argue that the smartphone is possibly one of the greatest things ever invented, I mean this is stuff we saw in Star Trek as kids and only dreamed it would ever really exist. Pretty much every piece of information you could ever need is there at your fingertips on a 5" screen.....
....and you can watch porn on it (and make phone calls )

Had a bit of a rant with one of my work colleagues yesterday morning, and while doing so I came to the conclusion that the smartphone is quite possibly the worst thing ever invented.
Anyone have any other things they wish had never seen the light of day?
A device that allows you to access pretty much any piece of information in existence and can be carried in your pocket, but you reckon it's a worse invention than Crocs Anyone have any other things they wish had never seen the light of day?

That said not all keyless systems are as good/have the above feature set. The early Ford one was funny in that once the car was started you could drive for as long and as far as you liked until you turned the car off then you were stuck, when I asked a dealer about this I was told it was intentional because at the particular period of time car jackings were quite common place so the idea was if it happened you just surrendered the car to the thief and they wouldn't come after you for the keys or whatever.
My nomination for something I wish hadn't been invented, Golf on TV!
