OCD.
When used incorrectly, e.g.. being neat and tidy, doing things properly/with pride etc.
"My car is always is immaculate, there's not a mark on it, that my OCD". No, that is not what OCD means.
Yes, come to think of it you do often hear people say stuff like "Oh that wonky chair is really hurting my OCD". When used incorrectly, e.g.. being neat and tidy, doing things properly/with pride etc.
"My car is always is immaculate, there's not a mark on it, that my OCD". No, that is not what OCD means.
Bugger off.
My wife forced me to stop at a supermarket on the way back from a run out in my Boxster the other day. She said, “I don’t suppose you have a carrier bag ? “
I stated that, of course I did, and pointed her to a little plastic panel that opens in the front boot. She extracted two plastic bags neatly folded with an elastic band around them. She smiled and stated that I was a bit OCD. I am not, I keep my cars clean and tidy and don’t like my cars looking like a shopping trolley!

She was being polite. She meant anal. 🤔😊😊😊🤣I stated that, of course I did, and pointed her to a little plastic panel that opens in the front boot. I think some of you guys are being a little pedantic. We know that a lot of the English have poor grammar. I employed in the building trade all my life so well know.
Typical line from a proper London lad, “borrow me some money till Friday “
Or. I got free, (three) bags of sand for, (superfluous word) free… ffs.
“My bad” that really ups my blood pressure.
“I’m loving it!” Eldest son used it once. A few days in the cooler sorted that out…

Almost as bad as "We need to go firm on that"
Just reply with something like "I agree, let's get this inserted as deep as possible into our calendars". If you do it with a serious face they'll all just nod along as if you're a really high flyer and will probably start using that phrase too - snigger*

Fair enough but if you really have OCD , you'd call it Compulsive Disorder Obsessive or CDO 'cos it's alfabetically correct innit? When used incorrectly, e.g.. being neat and tidy, doing things properly/with pride etc.

Not a phrase but a scientific term (and its derivatives) being bandied around by people who have no clue:
'Narcissist'.
Someone's a bit selfish? Been a bit horrible? Not to your liking? Boss from hell? No, s/he is a narcissist.
That's not horrible behaviour or arrogance. It's narcissism.
They're very narcissistic.
Also I've actually lost track of how many personality types there are, but it's equally annoying when having a personality or a particular character trait is made to look like you're part of some distinct or special group of people or have special needs and behavioural tendencies that other people need to learn more about.
Lately my algorithms have decided to bombard me with videos about people who (think they) are a 'introverts'.
In the olden days people used to consider introverts maybe as people who would keep themselves to themselves.
Yet there are videos by supposed introverts on the likes of Tiktok (e.g. a day in the life of being an introvert, introvert habits, coping mechanisms, vlogs and thought processes).
No, it's not a behavioural disorder. Stop trying to be special.
Obviously egged on by comments by people who think they can relate, or are coming to terms with figuring themselves out, and the thousands of views these videos get in an obviously extroverted world like social media.
As long as there's a target audience and it makes money, no?
