I’m not concerned about corona, but my christmas would potentially involve a trip to northern ireland. I’m not sure i want the added hassle of potentially getting stuck there longer than planned or having to mess about with travel plans.

also added complication of it being her first birthday on hogmanay, family would like to see her.

i’ll definitely see my family at some point, they are only 40mins away, but the wives in northern ireland might miss out this year
think i heard that the 'holiday' in NI is slightly longer to cope with people needing to travel to and from. Not sure of details sorry.

Somehow little one is getting close to 6 months and time to move her into her own room. What baby monitors does PH recommend?

What an amazing 6 months it's been even in lockdown she's brought so much joy to our lives.

Our local children charity does not accept electricals anymore, so we have a BT 6000 monitor to offload.

If interested, drop me a Pm and you can have the BT 6000 for a small charity donation.

just get a cheap audio one. You don't want to be staring at a video screen or stting yourself with all the alarm false positives.

We used an angel care audio only one and that was good. Wife (and MIL) were paranoid after losing her brother to SIDS and it didnt bother me. Just make sure you remember to turn it off after youve picked them up!

We've got the BT Smart Monitor which is the same as this one but with app access too. It's been great, screen can be turned off at night whilst audio still comes through so you can hear them should they start crying.

We also have this one and have been very pleased with it. It runs on Micro USB connectors too which would be handy if you ever forget a wire!

We use an audio only one too, never had any problems, I don't think I'd like the idea of a video one, I'd be constantly looking at it and probably freaking out in the middle of the night in case some kind of horror film started to play out in the baby room.

That's a very generous offer above though clap

The BT monitor has been faultless and served us well, and I am glad it's going to a good home.
It would have gone to the local dump otherwise, as we can't be bothered dealing with the numpties that frequent on Ebay or FB marketplace!

So at 4 weeks she has now decided that she will only settle if held, and really doesn’t like being in the cot on her own.

Is this a feature?
Yes and it can last for years! It can be trained out of them or you can go with the flow. Our eldest we had the time to sit with him until he settled on his own often for hours! then sneak / crawl out of the room. When the second came along we just let her fall asleep on my wife and carried her upstairs it’s just easier.

two and a bit weeks of our second born, we're over the moon but you forget all the worry and dread that comes. He's got a slight cold and you get quite nerve-wracked as a small cold for us can be a lot worse for them.

We have found that swaddling at night helps to keep her settled, although now I have said that she is bound to decide on an all night rave tonight laugh

r.e. the bottles... we just decided to shelve the anti colic ones, the normal ones never leak.

Thanks mate really appreciate it. I'll make a donation tomorrow and once we're finished with it I'll offer it on here so it can help someone else.

A new expectant dad over here! We had our 12 week scan last week. Everything went well.
The other half has been suffering from morning sickness, tiredness and various other little pregnancy symptoms over the last 8 weeks, but thankfully they've started easing.

With January sales just around the corner, perfect time to start kitting out the nursery!

Words fail to describe how happy I feel right now. I can't wait.

Congratulations! It's a crazy journey from here onwards, best of luck!

My sister in law is also 12-13 weeks at the moment, so I am kind of reliving the excitement again, but this time from a safe distance haha!

Congratulations. Pregnancy trimesters seem to go as follows

i) I feel sick
ii) I feel fine
iii) I feel heavy.

Thank you both. I've always had distant dreams of starting a family. They just always seemed... well, distant. Now it's happening, I never truly realised how much I wanted this.
