Checking in here for the first time, wife has recently had 12 week scan, everything looking OK, will be our first and by first I mean first and second, as it's twins, we've known since about week 3 and had early scan at I think 6 weeks so we've known it was likely to be twins since then.

Fun times, car has to go though need something slightly more practical frown
Congrats!

There's a few of us here with recent twins (my boys are approaching 18 months). Fire away with any questions smile
Yep congrats KN! 13 week old twins here, I think we are coming out the other side of the initial carnage!

My three top tips would be get as much time off work as you can to support your other half; twin-z feeding pillow and XC90!
Congrats! Another twin dad here, 5 month old boys.

Echo earlier comments, I took 6 weeks paternity which was a great bonding time for me and help for mum and have since been able to drop to working 4 days a week. I don’t think you can survive without a twin pillow, we have two! Oh and I drive a 535 touring with two Cybex Cloud Z spinny 360 seats.

Anyone able to offer guidance on 360 car seats for a newborn and onwards?
Also prams that are built tough but also compact in the car...

Thanks
Love ours it’s been great. My two never really liked being in the normal car seats and always cried but the more upright position of the 360 really helped. Only downside being you can’t transport them anywhere while they’re asleep as you have to lift them out but never Been our issue tbh.
Which one would you recommend? I've got the Bugaboo car seat, it's a proper uncomfortable thing. I do not remember who recommended me, but someone said it was one of the safest so we went for it. I will probably get a 360 one soon, but might need to change the car first.

I have the joie 360 I-spin as it had the button on the side instead of the front so you don’t rag your knuckles on the interior.

We looked at the Joie I Spin, Britax Dual Fix and a Cybex Sirona.

Ended up with the Cybex as John Lewis had it on a good deal. Pretty happy with it.
+1 on the Cybex system.

We've got an UppaBaby Cruz and its brilliant. Fits in the back of the Mrs Jinksters Mini Cooper. Car Seat Cybex Cloud Z with the base - also fits in the Mini on front and rear seats.

We're 3.5 years in with my son (also have a 2 month old girl) and he's just now sleeping through. Total game changer!

Before that, I can count on two hands the number of sleep throughs we'd had.

Feel that.

Our 2 year old came down with Hand, Foot and Mouth disease for the second time last week. Luckily a much milder version this time but he's still off his food due the sores in his mouth.

Second one is finally getting his Isotope scan on his kidneys today after a 6 or 7 month wait for an appointment.

The fun and games never end.

Regarding car seats I've not found huge differences between the different 360 car seats we've tried but one thing I've noticed is the ones with the release button on the front of the seat is much better than the ones where you have to fumble between the car seat and seat back to find the button, which is difficult one handed.

Well I’m coming at this from a slightly different angle, got final approval to adopt an 18 month old boy today. All being well we’ll start to transition him to our care in about three weeks.
Due to lockdowns it’s been over two years getting this far!

Im happy, excited and absolutely stting it.
Bedroom is built and decorated, many brightly coloured toys bought. Two car seats and a buggy await his use.

One of my nieces is 6 weeks younger so we have a fair bit of experience with the age group. Many more sleepless nights to come though.

Congrats! Sounds like you're seeing the light at the end of the tough energy. Sounds like you'll be great.

We had our first cluster feeding experience last night. Almost broke the wife but now he's all settled you wouldn't know.

1 month and 3 days ... where has the time gone.

How exciting.

Good luck, at least most of the teething is out of the way!

Thanks folks, it’s been a long time coming. My wife is now at the nesting stage, at this rate we’ll need to change his clothes several times a day to get everything worn before he grows out of it!

Big congrats, no idea what kind of solid foods they supposed to eat after 18 months but I’m sure it would be fun to share cheeky burgers once in a while. biggrin

The foster carers have been trying him on different foods, so far eats everything apart from Brussels sprouts, which is fair enough!
He may well be less picky than me.

At 18 months ours just ate what we ate. We cook from scratch so we control salt and sugar levels, plus loads of "hidden vegetables".

So we had them eating almost everything from mild curries to chilli con carne to pretty much anything Italian.

The odd hit is gyoza for both our kids. They (now) even ask for the ones with lots of cabbage in...
