I wouldn't.

Maybe the coolest thing I own are memories rather than possessions.

Most people I encounter think my barbecue is pretty cool, but that's because it is rather bigger and sturdier than most other people have.

I don't know otherwise. Rascal van, which I mention far too often, is cool in my book.

Either my car or my ski goggles. The car speaks for itself.

The goggles have GPS and a HUD that shows speed, elevation, vertical, piste maps. It can control my GoPro and show replays, show and control the music on my phone. It displays text messages and keeps a record of every day's skiing, as well as lifetime stats, like highest and longest jumps, fastest speed, longest continuous descent. The HUD was a bit buggy when I first bought the goggles, but subsequent updates have resolved the bugs. The battery lasts all day. My best ever gadget purchase.

I was about to say I had no cool memories but I think my coolest one was doing a trackday at Kemble - half the runway was closed off for us to drive on and as I was going up the runway, a jet plane (Jaguar?) took off over me. It felt a bit like it was my own personal Top Gun moment. Only I thought I was going to go deaf and because I wasn't expected it nearly shat my pants.

I had a trophy won by Mike Hailwood once, a book that was printed in the early 1600s in Antwerp, some old fountain pens from the 1930s, some really old wallets, some back to the 40s.

Load of rubbish really!

Would love some detail about these!

My coolest items probably sound a bit lame to others, but they probably are:

My Great Grandfathers old pocket watch and seal, still works and is a timeless classic piece
Specialized Demo 8 - DH bike, a few years old now but I reckon it's pretty badass
Beretta SV10 shotgun - 18th bday present, going to keep it for ever and in my eyes priceless.

My Fathers Old Landrover, 1957 Series 1.
He was part of the 1964 Olympic Bobsleigh team, which at the time was self funded.
He gave the Landy as his contribution.
It towed the Gold Medal winning bobsleigh all round Europe.
When the team disbanded the Gold medal winner and treasurer was owed money, so he kept the Landrover.
In 2001 he gave it to me as he wanted it to go back to where it started life.
I am the 3rd owner from new.

Yep, same here.

I own lots of stuff that I like and some stuff that I really like but nothing that I think people would consider cool.

Thinking about it cool is difficult to define and also very individual.

However to narrow it down, if I had to be surrounded by some cool stuff (when I'm old and in a homeeek) it wouldn't be objects but memories and maybe some pics of me and the family "doing" cool stuff.

Cool to one is boring to another.

My Super Shell globe which is wired up as a light receives the most complements, despite being cheaper than most of my other items, so I suppose it could be that.

I personally rate a pair of manifolds from the 2006 F1 championship winning R26, which I sincerely hope were fitted to Fred's car. They are cool to me, although judging by the purple and blue hue it has been extremely uncool at some point. hehe
