Is there an apostrophe missing or are you referring to the period?

Either my car or my ski goggles. The car speaks for itself.

The goggles have GPS and a HUD that shows speed, elevation, vertical, piste maps. It can control my GoPro and show replays, show and control the music on my phone. It displays text messages and keeps a record of every day's skiing, as well as lifetime stats, like highest and longest jumps, fastest speed, longest continuous descent. The HUD was a bit buggy when I first bought the goggles, but subsequent updates have resolved the bugs. The battery lasts all day. My best ever gadget purchase.

What an epic dork.
Such a bitter little person.
I think those goggles are pretty awesome! What did they cost? Link?
i think they're down £300-350 range now. I paid around £500 from my optician. They were the last pair left in London at the time. They are Zeal Z3 GPS with the Recon 2 HUD. Google will find them for you. ETA here's one:

Originally purchased by my Grandfather in 1960 and now pride and joy, I refurbished it over 3 years and now show at steam rallies throughout the year. (It is the steam engine that drove the galloping horses and poWe're the organ bellows)

Bloody hell, I want a pair of those now but I don't ski!!

Wonder how well they would pair with downhill mountain-biking, aside from looking like a tit obviously hehe

I have a few things, but probably the Christmas card from the Queen and Duke would be the "coolest".

(I also have a copy of Hulk 181 which i think is really cool, but any coolness is vastly outweighed by the sheer nerdyness)

I got something quite cool for my son when he was 14...I got him birthday card signed by Damon Hill, Mika Haakinnen, Jackie Stewart, and Ralf Schumacher. He still has it framed on his wall.

Sounds intriguing. A fascinating part of history. My Mom has an oil painting of her (head intact hehe), which is rather nice, but has been cut down over the years.

A Roland TR-808 Drum Machine.

I've got a fair collection of electronic music equipment but I think the 808 is the single coolest item, probably.

One of the original Evil Dead VHS tapes.

For a long while I was sure it was the edition that was worth a load of money. After having completed some fairly extensive research (first result on Google) it turns out, it aint.

I still like it, though.

In the 80's I owned a planetarium. GOTO Model E3. Educational version, ex-Admiralty. Came to me via a local army surplus dealer.
I sold it a few years later. tt.

Not much.

I do have some valve amplifiers I built myself.
But then ... some 1930's technology that blows away 2017 technology in sound quality isn't really cool. It is just geeky.

Although it does make you think... given that this is a car forum.... what on earth did we have in the 20's and 30's that we think now it happens in 2017 is amazing

Bugatti Veyron does 240mph give or take...

They were doing that in the 1930's and that would be on pretty stty quality petrol.

I don't think we are trying hard enough.

O/T - To be fair though, that is probably the equivalent of Bloodhound SSC etc. Anyone can buy a Veyron with £, I doubt you could have bought one of those at the time.

This really made me think and for me the coolest thing I own, is the gold signet ring that my Mum gave to me one day soon after my Grandfather died a few years ago.

He was 91 when he died and had got the ring for his 21st birthday, so he wore it for 70 years.

To me the coolest thing, is that despite having 3 other grandsons with the same surname as him, he chose to pass it down to me, who doesn't.

It has to be my most valued possession and I wear it everyday, despite being mildly terrified of losing it.

It has an inscription on it in Latin along with the family coat of arms; roughly translated it says "Worth not birth" which I rather like.
