Worried I've not put this together properly, the arb looked as if it would fit either way but the drop links won't fit with new polybushes, they won't reach the arb when it's all offered up.
I'm hoping there's something obvious I've missed

On my 350i the drop links are angled as they also don't fit in the perfect position. If I fit them to the roll bar first and then pull them up on the lower thread through the suspension arm then they do pull up okay, but do put a twist to the bush on the roll bar.

No problems. I have ordered a few rose joints tonight to make up a set of "Steve Heath" style rose jointed drop links.

Glad it fitted back together. My Gill Motorsport rose joints arrived today and are a direct replacement for the original knackered joints on my original Steve Heath drop links so looking forward to reassembling and fitting them on Wednesday evening. £30 for the four joints. Well pleased with that.

Out of curiosity, how did you make the link to line up?

Wasn't happy with the angle the droplink took, they had worn where they had been at such a difficult angle previously, had to bite the bullet and cut the eye off the tie bar and move it along a bit so it lined up with the end of the arb.

Had to use quite a lot of current and edge prep to get a deep run of weld

Interesting. Thanks for the info! Mine are also at quite acute angle, was wondering how to line 'em up.

I've been searching for an original set and come to the conclusion that the original drop link was a TVR special. It's definitely not a Cortina item.
