For an actual car chase I'd pick a 2005 Impreza STI Prodrive widetrack with disabled airbags. For sneaking away you want something utterly generic, a 3yr old Astra diesel or Korean something-or-other.
That's still why I like my suggestion of an ex police Insignia or Vectra V6. They look like a low spec diesel Insignia or Vectra, and they're everywhere. Steal some plates from a diesel Insignia or Vectra months before the job goes down and put them on the car on the day of the crime.
Calmly drive away and if you do need to get away quickly, you've got a decent, quick car for the job
Big old Merc or Jag - something good and solid. Definitely not a 4x4 - too high centre of gravity.
An old girlfriend's dad had a chauffeur who had served time for being a getaway driver. He was fast - back in the days before speed cameras he used to collect us from uni and transport us about. On one memorable trip we did the Severn bridge to Kew in about 45 minutes (in a BMW 323i). He was a big fan of the old Jag.

This, why take the risk, sit on the beach in Thailand armed with a MacBook and a steady supply of cold beers. A few hours a day doing internet scams should bring in 10k a day. If you get organised and busy, easy 20k a day.
Little chance of getting caught and if you do, your getting a shorter stretch than you would for waving a shooter around a bank.
But that stretch would be in a Thai prison. Little chance of getting caught and if you do, your getting a shorter stretch than you would for waving a shooter around a bank.
I hear they concentrate on the quality of the punishment over there.

Trust me - he did. This must have been in 1984 or 1985 and in the middle of the night. I don't think I've ever travelled so fast.
Given their max speed was 126, and the distance is 116 miles, plus the need to slow down for some bends and motorway exits, I'd suggest it is well meant... but slightly misremembered timings.Just back from seeing the film baby driver,
The first heist is done in a facelift bug eye Impreza, which they then switch to some non descript American thing
The 2nd is done in a Cadillac Escalade then switched to a non descript thing again
The 3rd is done in a Chrysler neon
So by all accounts you need something to blend into your surroundings. So a BMW 3 series or a Ford Fiesta is what you need.

You don't need to rob a bank nowadays, it's all done on the internet from your living room armchair.

I thought everyone knew this now? You'd have to be really good at nicking vehicles, but the answer is G134XVX
And yes, technically, it is a car that happens to have a Transit body.
A blast from the passed. There was a big old robbery at a Securitas depot in Kent a few years ago. A white Transit was used that just happened to have been stolen from a friend of mine in Forest Hill. And yes, technically, it is a car that happens to have a Transit body.
