More sensible to pop by whilst he's still alive, surely. At least they'd be in with a shout for a cup of tea and a biscuit. Slice of cake too perhaps if he'd been to the Co-Op.

my 4.30am commute was unusually busy today 6 cars and a van!!! More importantly, who persuaded him that driving while pickled was a bad idea? I appreciate it's right but in his day he swore by a snifter or two to keep him alert. With no synchromesh, no indicators and a hand pump for the fuel he had plenty for which to remain alert. No silencer either; used to wake us all up regularly. Dashed inconsiderate it was.

No, I don't think he's become judgemental about it. The last time he had a skinful and got in the van he couldn't get the key in the ignition, ended up taking the lock out with a slide hammer and hot-wiring it.
Numerous cuts and burns, I think he's more concerned about having to go to Matron again than anything else.

A friend of mine is in his 60s, he tells the tale of a right b
king he got from his wife when he came back from a particularly heavy night out. He was asleep, the gas fire was on, all the burners on the stove were on the back door was open and his van was sat in the vegetable patch running and in gear!
