You clearly didn't read my post, I didn't say all holidays in the UK were council, just most. But yes, mountain biking as any kind of holiday is council. You may not think it is, but everyone else does, especially the people you're holding up.

Also yet to find a breakfast buffet that isn't council. Given that you think mountain biking is a good holiday you've really shot yourself in the foot here.

Further more, if I'm travelling for business (which I've had to do quite a bit in the past) then someone else is paying for it... So you're damn well right I'm going to a nice sit down restaurant to have a table service meal billed to the client. If the client will not meet such basic requirements, then good luck finding someone with my level of skill who'll do the same job.

In fact all my previous jobs have stipulated I'm not permitted to work more than 8 hours when working away from home as the "reasonable overtime" in most professional contracts clause goes right out the window and some hideously expensive overtime comes into it. I also got paid for flight time, regardless of if it was in or out of business hours, once again, see the part about the client above.

If you find you're pressed for time when working away... it's either poor planning or you need a better career.
You sound fun.

But in a special universe where 'fun' is synonymous with 'like a prick'.
Gosh, he sounds very important too, doesn't he?

I was thinking "what a prat". Strange that prick should be synonymous with prat.

Some great pictures from her very public Facebook profile, which suggest that this incident wasn't as out of character as the courts were told.
I wonder if she can be hired for dinner parties and corporate events- she'd certainly keep it lively.
She's got great prospects ahead of her, that's for sure!

Fixed that for you.

Yes, for their own safety in custody where required, with supervision and by a female officer (IIRC)

Who doesn't like a breakfast buffet ?!! we stayed in a lovely 5 star hotel in Spain this year (am I council ?) and it had a fantastic restaurant. we loved the breakfast buffet. Who doesn't like having at least 7 different breakfasts and 12 coffee's by 10.00 am on holiday ?

bloody weirdo's.
Who doesn’t like 7 different breakfasts, and 12 coffees?
I’ll take a wild stab at all us reasonably slim people.
I can suffer a breakfast buffet, maybe scrambled eggs and grilled bacon,
but I rarely stay in hotels, preferring to rent a house or condo on holiday.
Not for nothing, but the plural of coffee is coffees, not coffee’s.

I'm reasonably slim, and i enjoy a good breakfast buffet.

What's wrong with having plenty of choice? Cereal, fruit, cooked meats, etc.
Eggs (unless cold hard boiled) and kippers need to be freshy cooked. Cold meats, cheeses, croissants and pastries all delicious.

Choice is great, why not, but in the post I was replying to, the person said, “Who doesn’t like 7 different breakfasts”, I doubt you’d stay slim by eating 7 different breakfasts.
I’m guessing now that he may have meant “the choice of 7 different breakfasts”, but that wasn’t the way it appeared in his post.

I was at a hotel in Carrrickfergus last month, and eggs were the only thing being cooked to order.

Poached, soft boiled, fried, scrambled, whatever you wanted, everything else was cooked in view, and brought out to the buffet.

Making me hungry, this protein 'yogurt' I'm eating (which is actually raspberry flavoured soft cheese) is not cutting it.
What about kippers?

well I'm 5'11", about 12. stone 3-7 lbs and in my 40's I'll generally beat most people on a road bike/mountain bike all day long still.

so I still stand by my view that having twelvety breakfasts, when on holiday is a brilliant thing to do. so there. Just don't want to do it everyday.

eg, bowl of porridge today. Because I don't want to be a fat git. But its getting harder as I get older frown

First things first, I can't work out if this post is serious or an attempt at satire.

If serious, it's one of the most self indulgent, narcissistic, and generally appalling posts I've ever read.

If satire, it's brilliant.
